I was really excited to try Piada Italian Street Food because it seemed like something new and different from the same old fast food options. I had done a little research online before going and saw that they offered pastas, rolls (kind of like burritos), and you could mix and match sauces. Online, I even saw videos where they toss the pasta in a pan right in front of you, which looked awesome — but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case at this location. Not sure if they’ve stopped doing it or if this spot just doesn’t, but here they just put the sauce on top. At least the mix-and-match sauce options were still available.
The food itself was good — not great, but good. I built my own pasta with penne + alfredo + pesto sauce, and it turned out solid. The best part was honestly the sweet peppers, which added a nice pop of flavor. For the roll, I went with the crispy spicy chicken with diavolo sauce and spicy ranch, and that was pretty tasty too. Definitely different from your usual fast food in a good way.
That said, the experience at this location wasn’t great. We waited about 15 minutes just standing there before anyone even attended to us. The staff looked overwhelmed and struggling to keep up. Once we finally ordered, I’d say about 30% of the ingredient bins were empty, so we didn’t have all the options to really build what we wanted. On top of that, the wait time was way too long for what’s supposed to be a “fast” food spot, and the cleanliness could use improvement as well.
Overall, I’d say Piada is a good quick stop if you’re in the mood for pasta but don’t want to sit down at a full restaurant and spend $20+. For around $10–15 you can get a decent pasta or roll that’s much more interesting than typical fast food. With better management, staffing, and cleanliness, this place could shine.
I’d give it 3.5 stars if I could, but since Google doesn’t allow halves, I’ll...
Read moreListen, I really enjoy Piada food, which is why I choose to continue to eat it every so often. However, I've rarely had good experiences ordering it online. I always show up at the time my order is supposed to be ready and end up waiting 20-45 minutes for my order. This last experience I had was the last straw and is what sparked me to write this review, however. Ordered my food at 4:45 and was supposed to be ready by 5. I showed up at 5, there were two other people waiting on pick-up orders and one customer at the counter. No pick-up orders were sitting out yet so i just waited with the other two people. Ok, no big deal, I dont mind waiting a little bit. None of us (the people waiting on pick-up orders) were ever asked anything until 5:10 what we were waiting on. The lady behind the counter proceeded to pull out a long line of reciepts and called out that we were here and waiting. That was the only update we ever got. Jumping forward, I finally recieved my order at 5:25. Between the time I arrived and the time I recieved my order, there were only 3 customers who came in to order food, so Im not exactly sure what took so long for them to finish my order (once again, I never got updates on what was taking so long).
Now, typically I dont write reviews. But I feel like something needs to change with their online ordering process. If Ive experienced this quite often, I know others have as well. And usually im not so bothered by it, especially if Im waiting and I can visually see they are swamped. But I do enjoy the food, and I do hope the owner sees this and decides to do something about it. Waiting 40 minutes for an order with hardly any customers coming through the establishment is...
Read moreWhen I went to pick up my order, the employee packaging it together handed me the bag and I walked to the drink counter to verify its contents. I noticed it was missing the two garlic doughs, so i went to the cashier to request them. The lady packaging the food asked me what I needed and I told her I was missing the doughs. She rolled her eyes and walked away, completely ignoring my issue. I know...how dare I request what I have already paid for.
The cashier, Aiden, jumped in to assist me. Turns out, they were "out of garlic dough" despite me waiting around another 15 minutes after he told the order prep to make the garlic doughs. I noticed people in the line to pay received garlic doughs...and since they had not paid yet, two of those should have gone to someone who already paid and were waiting.
Aiden requested the manager to refund my garlic doughs and she did apologetically. It has now been 3 full days since and the refund $5.39 has yet to been completed. I'm hopeful that we can get this handled ASAP.
Standing around 15+ minutes waiting on garlic dough and then being told they're sold out allowed my dinner to become lukewarm by the time I got home, a very short distance away. The garlic dough was not sold out, the staff simply were too busy to make more. All the ingredients are right there on the line...so there was plenty, they just didn't care enough to satisfy a customer who had...
