I LOVE Grimaldi's....however this one needs to get it together! Walked in, got on the waitlist (about 30min), and went to walk around. Got the text as expected about 25 minutes later, headed back, and was immediately seated. We were both offered water and asked for a minute to look the menu over, we order the seasonal spinach pecan salad and wanted a large, the waitress prompted us that it was waaay too much and we let her know that we knew and still wanted the large. She continued to argue that we didn't want the large salad, but gave in after the 4th time we said we knew what we wanted - we had one request of no onions. We went ahead and ordered a 20in (medium) seasonal chicken alla vodka pizza. About 10 minutes later, our salad came out.... the small, we questioned her and she said "oh yeah you wanted the large - give me a minute and I will bring you another small" - that worked for us, until the first bite where it was loaded with onions..... raw purple onions galore! We waited a few and with no sight of the waitress, we caught the manager who apologized and said he would take care of it. He came back a few minutes later and let us know that our large salad would be out shortly and out 16in (small) pizza was right behind it - we stopped him and said we ordered a medium, he apologized and said he would take care of it. About 5 minutes later our waitress reappeared with a small salad but couldn't figure out why we didn't have our other. We took the small salad and got to work, sans onions. A few minutes later the pizza arrived and the manager let us know we would have an extra personal pizza to go. About 2 minutes later someone else showed up with our personal pizza and tried to leave it on the table..... we asked for it to go, and the rest of our small pizza. We got offered dessert.... and our check for the full amount after being told it would be comped. When we asked about it the waitress said "oh yeah"..... we never got our full salad. There seems to be some MAJOR communication problems at this location. We will try it again in a month or two once it's had some time to work out the kinks... but currently the service is abysmal!!!!!

I've been a fan of Grimaldi's Pizza for a while now, but my recent experience at their Fort Worth location left me extremely disappointed. My girlfriend was at the Clearfork shopping center, and I eagerly asked her to pick up an 18" traditional cheese pizza with extra cheese from Grimaldi's to bring home to our house in Weatherford. Upon receiving the pizza and taking a few bites, I immediately noticed something was off. The pizza tasted like it had been left in the oven for far too long—it was burnt. Disheartened, I flipped the pizza over to confirm my suspicions, and to my dismay, the entire bottom of the pizza was charred black. What baffles me the most is that someone in their kitchen—a supposed pizza expert—should have known better. Any competent pizza maker knows to check the underside of a pizza while it's cooking to ensure it's cooked to perfection, not burnt to a crisp. It's beyond frustrating to think that the employee responsible for making our pizza either didn't care or didn't bother to check, resulting in such a disappointing meal. Given that we live a good 30 minutes away from the restaurant, this wasn't just a minor inconvenience—it was a complete letdown. Grimaldi's should prioritize quality control and customer satisfaction, especially for take-out orders. I urge anyone considering ordering from this location to thoroughly inspect their pizza before leaving. It's unfortunate that Grimaldi's failed to deliver on their reputation this time, and it has definitely left a sour taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively.

So disappointing. As a native New Yorker - newly relocated to Texas (woohoo!) - I had every hope of finding a pleasant reminder in a simple Margarita pizza. The atmosphere seemed right - a little cheesy, but enjoyable. We started right in ordering a cáptese salad and a Margarita pizza. We were hungry and excited! The soda and salad came out reasonably. And then the wait began. Our waitress Starr was more interested in flirting with her co-worker and left us alone. ONE HOUR later a very overcooked pizza was brought to the table. My wife and I exchanged glances but were so hungry we accepted the first slice and began to eat. It was the worst Margarita pizza I have ever eaten! So burnt the basil was black and the cheese dark brown. We ate some to appease our hunger and waited to get the waitresses attention to get our check and leave. Another 20 minutes later we finally got a box and a bill and I asked to speak with the manager. I will never return to this place. Grimaldi’s should be deeply ashamed.

Probably the worst service we’ve ever had eating out, ever. To the point that, for the first and only time I can recall, we gave zero tip— and it was damn well earned.

When we got there, we asked if there was any outdoor seating available and the man greeting us said yes, there was one table left, but he’d need to bring us plates, menus, etc, which he did, right away.

But then, after sitting there for fifteen minutes, one of us finally had to go back in and ask him if someone could please come take our orders. (He actually asked how many would be in his party, not recognizing him from when we first walked in.) About five minutes later, someone finally came to take our drinks and food order.

About fifteen minutes after that, we finally got our drinks (with one of the three being wrong— water, instead of unsweet tea) and about 20 minutes after THAT, the first of two pizzas came…but with the wrong toppings.

It took us a second to realize this and the server had already gone back in before we could alert them. They’d said that the other pizza would be right out but after waiting another five minutes or so I went back in (it being my turn this time) and stood at the front for several minutes before someone finally walked over and asked if I needed help. I explained that there had been a mixup on our order and they said they would send someone out to take care of it.

A few minutes later, two people came out, took away that pizza, and confirmed what it should have been.

It was still another ten minutes or so until the second of our two pizzas came. (Thankfully with the correct toppings.) But the corrected pizza took another 20 minutes—at least—to be brought out. (I’d finished eating before the other two people at our table got theirs. I guess we’d been bumped to the end of the line again.) Oh, and their pizza STILL had missing toppings. But, by this point, they were just glad to have anything and so ate it anyway.

Since I knew we were still going to be there a bit, I went next door, got a gelato, came back and ate it while they finished eating their pizza.

Then we waited and waited for the check. Then the other two got up and got their own gelato and came back. And still no check. (At this point I’d decided to flag someone down again after I went to the restroom but I could see the server finally going out as I was walking back.)

All in all, we were there an hour and 45 minutes. For three people to order and eat pizza. In a restaurant that was at most maybe half full. Just absurd. And not once— not one, single, time did our server—or anyone for that matter—come by our table to see how we were doing or if we needed refills, or if everything was okay. Seriously. Not once.

It seemed like people eating inside were being served so maybe it was our mistake to ask for outside seats, but we weren’t the only ones when we did. And if this was somehow an issue, we certainly didn’t know when we asked and would have preferred to have just been told upfront, rather than to have been treated like an afterthought or an inconvenience...

EDIT: Decided to give this place a second shot. One pizza took OVER AN HOUR to hit our table and it wasn’t even busy? They had Togo orders going out the door constantly but everyone at the restaurant had to want the 1+ hour wait to get our food.

One point in the night, the manager came out and said that whoever was still waiting for a pizza wouldn’t be getting one because their pizza stick broke LOLLLLL

I will not be coming back here.

—————————————————————

Went here for the first time today. I want to start off by saying the food was absolutely amazing, I got a pizza and the trio desserts.

The bad review comes from my interaction with the hostess. Before arriving at the restaurant, I had thought it was a quick service type of place so I placed an online order via their website site ahead of time since we were on a time crunch and the website said it’d take 30 minutes to be ready. Also, we had planned on eating at the restaurant when we got there. We got to the restaurant and I quickly realized my mistake when we walked into a full service/sit-down restaurant.

I saw the hostess (older lady, short hair) and tried to explain my situation and asked if we would still be able to sit down and eat at the restaurant. At this point, the hostess starts to become very condescending to me and had the worst attitude. She starts to talk about how she would have to seat me in a server’s section but then the server won’t get paid (since I had already paid online). I assume she’s talking about tipping? I don’t know.

The interaction was so uncomfortable, I told the hostess that I’ll just pick up my food and go. And she starts to repeatedly tell me all pick up orders are handled at the bar.

The lady behind the bar was incredibly kind (younger women) and let us sit at the bar and enjoy our meal. She refilled our drinks and checked in with us like we were regular sit-down customers. We ended up ordering a dessert after we devoured our pizza and were not disappointed!! We left the bar server a very generous tip (thank you for treating us with such kindness, I forgot to...
