We came to Hopdoddy with a group of 10 people, and some paid separately. There was a couple that was served in the middle of our group. Having been to other Hopdoddy locations with a group, I didn't think any of this was a big deal. Until we realized the people who assigned the tables assigned the couple's food, not with our party to our table. Our party was split between 2 tables, so there was some confusion there. Then the runners started bringing us food that wasn't ours. We insisted it was not, and they insisted it was ours. Somewhere around the 2nd or 3rd attempt of drinks, we all realized that it was probably the other couple who was in line with us. We tried to explain that to the staff and they wouldn't listen. Finally, a female (I wish I had her name) listened to us, and sure enough, we were correct. Then the couple had ordered fries and burgers, all of which got delivered to us, and we said no, it goes to the table across, and we pointed to them and everything. Several of the runners yelled/barked at us. That it was fine they'd figure it out. It's not for us to worry about. The manager or supervisor even came out with their burgers, and we said they were for the other people. He was clearly getting angry after I said we did not order those. He barked back that YOU PAID FOR THEM. I said we didn't. He said he would reimburse us. I said, "I didn't know to what because I would have noticed an extra $30 on our bill. So. Rude. We noticed that the nice female was eventually talking to the couple because, as expected, the couple never got their burgers and left shortly after she talked to them. It was unfortunate that it was an error on the staffs side from the beginning, and when we tried to explain it, all but 1 person actually listened to us. If m the employees would not have been so stubborn, they could have avoiding ruining multiple experiences. The food was fine, but the service could easily be found...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews at this location, Euless & McKinney, I decided to give it a try tonight. Wrong decision: I should've got my turkey sub from Jersey Mike's instead! Already in the parking lot, I placed a to go order online that had an 8:36pm. pickup time, so about a 20-minute wait, which was fine. My order came out in about 8 minutes though, because they weren't busy at all. When I opened my bag at the bar to check my order, there was a long hair wrapped around my utensils, which the bartender quickly replaced. With my appetite partially ruined, I still tried to eat my food in the car while fresh. I got the Double Bacon Jam burger, lukewarm, it was cooked with no pink like requested, but I wouldn't order it again. I tasted only mustard flavor & a lil pickle taste, the meat had no flavor, and the jam didn't really taste like anything either. Also had an order of sweet potato fries, which needed more salt, but they were hot & fresh, though I've had better. Overall, this place could be a lot better, considering its specialty is burgers. There are better burger joints for better prices around, like Kincaids. I can appreciate the creativity of the burgers, but they still seem to lack flavor or seasoning! With more than 1/2 of my burger left, I was gonna see if it would taste better tomorrow, but with this being the only thing I ate today, my stomach has been feeling queasy ever since, so in the trash it goes; 😡 I hate wasting food & $$. On another note, I can say the place looked clean, and the atmosphere seemed cozy & comfortable, my interaction with 2 employees was fine, and parking was accessible behind the building; but I will not be returning...
Read moreUpdate They were not purchased by Pepsi as I was told, either Stubborn Soda was purchased and discontinued, or they made the conscious decision to switch to Pepsi..... Instead of fighting to be unique or switching to another small soda group like Maine Root... A terrible misstep none the less, and the review still stands. * End Update*
The burger here is always fantastic. Prepared, seasoned and cooked perfectly. The options are all pretty unique to the burger genre and they have a solid foundation. But that's where the unique dining stops, I'll explain in detail below. The kids burgers were not the same as ours, a lil dry and with no sauce as requested, naturally I wasted 20 bucks because they didn't eat it 🙄
I wish I had remembered to take pics of the burgers, my bad fam. The condiment bar is on point. The hot honey and sage fries are the best thing on the menu that doesn't include beef. The bacon isn't worth the price on the upgrade, I don't understand why there is an upcharge to turn a burger into a salad, it shouldn't be more. There are many things I could nitpick, but I really did like this place..... Service was great, staff, food...... Wonderful.
The overall star cut is from being bought by Pepsi and changing the drink options. To go from Stubborn Soda which fit the company vibe so well, to the trash of all carbonated options was the worst possible decision they could have made. Literally just another chain now. It doesn't matter how well you dress up a burger, if your main beverage options are Pepsi......I might as well stay home and cook. Not wasting 60 bucks here again for a meal to wash it down...
