This restaurant is pretty mid. The concept caught our eye while we were walking in the Magnolia neighborhood but you should pass it up in favor of Wabi House. It was disappointing since they didn’t have any vegetarian options despite being influenced by Japanese cuisine. It shouldn’t be difficult to implement a tofu or veggie based dish. I also had to send back the margarita because it was very watered down (so disappointing for some place that supposedly won an award for their margarita in 2021 according to an award at their entrance). Further, I had to send back the fried brussel sprouts because they were only fried on the outside and not cooked on the inside, and sour to boot. Other tables who arrived afterwards received their food first despite their claims that the food comes out in the order it is put in. The food took forever and one of our party members had to go because he could not wait any longer. Their excuse was that they had a big party on the other side of the restaurant, but the place seemed empty to us. They also don’t do anything special for birthdays, which seems very basic and easy to implement despite their supposedly new launch. They also had difficulty making our plates to-go at the end. The only good thing this place has going for it is the atmosphere, but that’s easily eclipsed by the service and the food quality. For full transparency, the tacos and pozole were good according to my party - but I can’t vouch for them because I’m a vegetarian. I also feel bad because the owner Paco was very apologetic and sweet to us when we were leaving, and we wish him...
Read moreI was really excited to try this place for my birthday celebration. My family and I are a party of 12 and we are well aware of how big our party is so we try to be courteous by making reservations and/or calling ahead to give them a heads up. We made all the attempts to contact them via phone and social media pages… No response. We still decided to go and were willing to endure any wait time.. We showed up, first red flag, there was a very unpleasant smell that was trying to be covered by the smell of bleach. Second red flag, to our surprise it was empty (literally) and no wait time. We told them it was a party of 12 and they proceeded to take is to a table. Third red flag they started to put together dirty half booth tables. We asked them to please wipe down the tables and they looked bothered. I then asked if we could possibly put tables together instead since we are a bigger party it’s a struggle to be sliding in and out of booths. We were then told that there wasn’t anywhere they could do that that wouldn’t be in the way.. Not sure what we would be in the way of since there was NOBODY there. After feeling like we were more of a burden to them, we decided to take our business elsewhere. We went to a very busy Gustos across the street and they were so kind and welcoming, so we definitely recommend trying...
Read moreHate giving out bad reviews, especially for new businesses in Fort Worth. However we feel the need to on this one… Service was good, but Food was absolutely not. We were so excited for this Japanese/mexican fusion concept but it turned out to be a failure.
Rice - Something that is very prevalent in both Asian and Hispanic cuisine. I’m not sure what kind of rice or how they cooked it here, but I have never had such bland/terrible rice in my life. Mole tonkatsu - Again, very cool concept that we are excited for. However, I have never had such dry chicken served to me before. Presentation - absolutely no thought was put into each dish. The most they did was give a side of cabbage. Such cool ideas, but no execution. Drinks - We had the whisky sour, which was probably the highlight of the meal. Really good. Do not recommend the matcha margarita, I couldn’t tell there was matcha in it aside from the color
Hate to leave such a bad review because we were so so so excited for the place, but it was a complete letdown and we will not be returning.
Update: This is the next day and both my husband and I have very...
