This place has terrible, over priced food with extremely small portions, and horrible service!
Pan Asia on Camp Bowie is WAY better!
I came here to eat dinner with my mom and kids for my 40th birthday. We were seated right away. It took the waitress awhile before she ever came and took our DRINK order, but before we could finish it to go check on the availability of drinks. She returned, finished our drink order them said she'd be back to take our food order even though we were ready and she left quickly. It was some time again before she actually returned. Finally she did and we ordered. We sat patiently and watched as two tables across from us got seated. One table received their order before us. We waited patiently. We figured he must've ordered something easy or premade. Then we watched a table of four girls get seated. Eventually, THEY got their food. We waited still. Then we noticed the waitresses stop by and pick up the empty plates from the first table. He had arrived AFTER us, finished his meal, then he was sitting there chatting. They checked on him but never checked on US! It seemed we were invisible as waitress after waitress blew past us in a hurry. Then the 4 top received THEIR meals, finished and were happily chatting. At this point, we started to get annoyed. We checked and realized we had been waiting over an hour... Starving... Not even checked on, offered an appetizer... Not even an apology! Then one of the staff must've noticed our angry expressions (maybe the manager or owner) and started frantically asking about an order in the kitchen. They brought out or soup but my kids were so hungry, we were trying to split ONE bowl between the four of us. So we asked for another bowl. Finally, our food arrived. The potions were small. The BBQ cutlets were thin and over cooked to the point that they were impossible to cut and the plate was nearly sliding off the table when I tried. The fried rice was soggy and mushy. And again, it was a super tiny portion..They delivered all our food except my 7-year olds. My poor child sat there with no food. We were starting to think they forgot his. Eventually they brought his. When they brought the bill, it was almost $100 for some tiny portions of meat, rice, soup, and a kids meal! The food wasn't even good! And the think...I came here for my 40th birthday and was treated with such disregard!
Go to Pan Asia on Camp Bowie! I am in no way affiliated with them, but they have decent proportions, better meat, better quality, more options, and more affordable prices! AND...
Read moreOut of pure concern for this establishment, I did think about putting 3 stars, and here's why:
First off, the food, at least the House Chile with chicken, was absolutely delicious. The flavor and amount of serving for the price was an easy 4 stars, and honestly, I'd say 5. But eating out is not just about the food, believe it or not! The service can be just as important as the food to many people, including myself. The hospitality of the staff was within 4-5 stars. They cared about my group's experience, and you could easily sense that within their attitude and actions. However, intentionality does not make-up for lack of execution. Which, in this case was not a big ordeal because our group was having a very casual get-together and had loose expectations of the service. My big cause for concern is related to what I would be considered the fundamentals of waiting a table. There were multiple instances where we were waiting a little too long for our waitress to check in on us at different transitions within our dining experience. I sensed this was due to an unawareness of not only our needs at those given instances, but also in relation to the establishment's overall paradigm of HOW IMPORTANT the attention to their guests needs is at these particular transition points. I could easily see them being busy and unintentionally causing guests to have a frustrating and/or bad experience because of the subconscious expectation most people have toward waiting standards. All that being said, I am a fan of Thailicious and believe they have the potential required to consistently hit five star ratings every time a guest...
Read moreMy review is based on them being dishonest about prices. I ordered a beef curry that was 12.00 on there scan menu from the table. When we paid it was 14.00. I called it to the waitressess attention. she went behind the register got a paper menu and showed me that beef was 2 extra dollars. I showed her the menu they told us to use and she said that I've done this before and thus would be my last time. Usually when I go I get the duck and it's been months since I've had anything else there. I informed her that they needed to update there menu or give people the paper menu that she went and got. I'm not upset at the 2 dollars I still would have ordered the same thing. I'm upset that she has known about this for months and done nothing. if 10 people order curry a day then they are scamming people out of 140 a week. say 500 a month and that is just for this one dish. 2 dollars isn't alot until you × by everyone who orders there. to me it is the same as theft. and I only say that because they have known about it and done nothing for months. food is good.
Thank you for your response. It's OK to charge 14 dollars. My issue is that you are charging a higher amount then what's on your menu. Please change the menu to reflect the new price. It's digital so it should only take a minute and not cost you anything. If it was the printed copy I...
