I was at Carl's for lunch. 12/17 Went there due to a sale on the California classic meal. Let me say I so enjoy Carl's. I don't eat out of the house often at all. Can't afford it. But I went ahead and did it. At carls counter, I asked how much for upsize to medium California classic meal, 78 cents was the amount. I went ahead and Got that. Didn't realize till I got the meal, that it was not the special price plus the .78 plus tax. Went to the counter, It was then I was told the medium size meal was not allowed as an upgrade for the 5.99 special. I would absolutely not have gotten medium upgrade at 1.78 more than the sale price. Quite a disappointment. I'm a disabled man on a very limited income. This was my treat for the month. Now, I thought, ok, it's a dollar, forget it. So I get my food, I'm eating a couple fries, and... mediocre at best, and not warm enough to be acceptable, but fine, I'll just eat them, had a few more, then oh yes, time for that Carl's burger. Hell yes. I open it, and I swear, it's smaller then last I got this burger, but, maybe it just seems that way. My mouth is seriously watering, take that first charbroiled bite. Oh my what a disappointment. Not warm enough, I took a couple bites, and the burger began falling apart.as though the bun was stale and the meat, wasn't meat. The bun slowly crumbled into flaky raisin sized bits, the meat did somewhat the same, just not as bad. The flavor of the meat tasted absolutely nothing like any meat I've had. It had a texture I've never experienced. The burger and fries were an utter disappointment. Soda however, was spot on. I've been going to Carl's since the late 70s, and I believe it's amazing. This trip, not at all. If this was my first trip, there would never...
Read moreWe used to go to Carl’s Jr. often back in the mid 2010’s in another state, then after some time it declined and we quit going there. Our first meal we had that my husband decided to surprise me was really pretty good, but the 2nd was a disappointment. We ordered off the app the exact same meal we had a week earlier and my hubby went to pick it up and he said it was really busy. He just grabbed our order and came home. I thought the bag looked a bit small and peeked in and our 2 orders of waffle fries were missing. It was getting late (about 10:45 pm) but I called and spoke with the store manager (whose name I won’t post) and he asked for us to come back the next day. I was thinking, cool, we’ll grab the fries that we paid for the night before and we’ll just have another burger. Keeps me out of the kitchen. Yippee! 🥳 Hubby runs down to the store the following day armed with our app receipt, screenshots of our call and online confirmation and is promptly told “Nope! You are only here to get free food” and they were so rude about it! They looked at everything we brought for proof and really treated him poorly. We almost spent more money on gas just to go back than the $8 in fries were worth. I have tried twice to send a message to corporate through the app, but have heard nothing….. So sad….we missed our California classics and the waffle fries, but definitely do not want to be treated as thieves. We are in our 60’s. I’m not going to steal anything. I just am sad about this whole thing. So kids, my advice, please check your orders before you leave...
Read moreStopped at the drive through here for lunch with my dad and we decided to try their chicken sandwiches, one of them being the new chicken and waffle sandwich. The person who took our order was not at all familiar with the menu and it was a real struggle for them get anything right, even though it was just 2 sandwiches and a single order of fries. We ended up having to pull around to the front to wait for our food which was fine, and about 25 minutes later they finally brought it out. They forgot a sandwich and the fries, so I had to go in... I could not believe how disorganized these folks were. It was no wonder they forgot things. The employees were actually fighting with each other, and a guy who I'm assuming was a manager screamed at another employee about our missing items in front of everybody. We got home to eat our lunch, and as if the experience at the restaurant wasn't bad enough, these sandwiches were a joke. The chicken and waffle "sandwich" was comically small, maybe an inch and a half wide, the nugget amount of chicken was burnt to a dry crisp, and the sauce smelled like syrup but was basically tasteless. The BLT ranch chicken sandwich was also burnt, had no flavor, the tomato was mush, and the lettuce was just a sad wilted mess. We are both hoping this place goes out of business so Dairy Queen can start selling burgers. For the amount of money we spent on that lunch, we expected WAY better....
