Wife and I were looking for something new to try, and landed on Toast In Town. The wait wasn’t bad, probably because it was Memorial Day weekend.
Atmosphere: 5/5
Beautiful restaurant. A lot of thought and good taste went into the build out. Nice and bright with attention to textures throughout. Chill acoustic covers of popular songs and not too loud. There are indoor and outdoor seating.
Service: 5/5
Service was attentive and kind. Not a lot of smiles thrown around, but smiles does not always mean friendly service either. Their approach is very professional and business like, but check in on their guests often. My cup of water never ran empty either, which is a big plus.
Food: 5/5
I’m only rating the 3 dishes my wife and I had. We started with the Corn Cheeee Rolls, and shared the Croffles Bacon Cheese and Crispy Southern Burger (fried chicken sandwich), which included fries. Everything was delicious, except for the fries. They weren’t terrible by any means, I just personally like them crispier. They are a slightly thicker cut than a McDonald’s fry, which I like, but if only they were crispier. Other than that, flavors on all the dishes were all well balanced. Nothing was over powering. Everything just complimented each other. Chef kiss. Oh, and the portion sizes were solid as well.
In summary, my wife and I had a great experience at Toast In Town. I read some reviews saying they were pricey, but you get what you pay for here. Hard to find fresh, high quality food, with this kind of ambiance and service for less than $20-25/ entree. I also spoke with a lady (maybe the owner, or manager) about the fries. She was so kind and receptive to the feedback. We’ll definitely be...
Read moreYay! A new brunch place opened in Foster City. I love the cozy seating, modern interior and great lighting. My co-workers and I decided to peel ourselves away from work and actually have a sit-down lunch. I had the Farm Fresh Omelette, another had the Golden State Omelette, and another had the Fiery Crab Salad. Wish they had more gluten-free options. Food came out promptly. You can have omelettes and salads at any café, but it's the presentation that makes you want to just bite into your food with delight. We all finished our plates clean. Next to us, someone ordered the Chicken Croffles. That turned our heads...it was a chicken and waffle dish artfully piled high. It looked sooo delicious. I think the best part of our experience was the amazingly friendly service. One of the servers recognized me from another restaurant (Chuan Chim) where she works that I frequent and chatted with me for a bit - just love her! I hope they're able to maintain that level of customer service because that's what makes this place special. ** Update 4/20/2025 * Just tried the chicken and waffles! The chicken is sooo tender and the crunchy exterior complements it nicely. The waffles were a bit chewy, kinda glutinous but when you smother both chicken and waffle with maple syrup, it's smack- your-lips good. Mother had the ahi tuna salad; she loved the dressing but thought the ahi was a bit dry. Brunch was crazy busy but the staff handled the crowd well. We were seated within 20 mins. And as always, the staff were attentive, ...
Read moreWe went for lunch on a Wednesday and had a wonderful time. Had the croissant waffle 🧇 with fried chicken and the basic burger with a diet coke. The star of the show was absolutely the croissant waffle with fried chicken. It was so good! I will come back for that alone. The burger was exactly as expected. A basic burger. I like that it came with fries. Needs a good pickle spear. Unfortunately the diet Coke came in a can and for $4 I'd rather have a soda Coke with free refills. That really annoyed me. The ambiance is really nice. It was very quiet and easy to carry on a conversation. The seating is very comfortable. I'm a bigger and taller person and was extremely comfortable. This is definitely one of the best places in Foster City now and I will be returning regularly. It is so nice to have somewhere nice that we can walk to. I look forward to brunching there also during the weekends. But for me I'll be returning for lunch most often because I'm a...
