Elegant & Upscale burger joint but don't be fooled, they know what they're doing.
Parking is plentiful and easy to access.
Visited twice in 2 days. Both times for lunch and sat at the bar. Ashley was our bartender/server and she did a fine job. Attentive and responsive.
The backdrop to the bar seating is an impressive wall of spirits. Mostly Whisky.
Nice art as you enter. The joint is dark and sultry with thoughful decor and quality materials throughout.
Greeted quickly and sat accordingly.
Menus are leather-bound. Hefty and with a presence. I like that.
Seems like a varied selection but I've only had burgers, sides and fries. Will definitely be back to try everything else as we now live in the area.
Great tumblers for water not typical pint glasses.
Good tap selection and wines.
My wife had the BTG Rose and loved it. She's not fond of dry wines so take that fwiw.
Burgers were cooked to order. 1st day Medium, 2nd day Medium Rare. Spot on. The beef is great. Char flavor on point. Slightly crispy edges to the burgers. Juicy and "beefy". A++
Buns are perfect. Brioche with a light brush of garlic butter. Big, delicious and fluffy with a slight crust. A++
Toppings are well made. The pickles are served on the side and crunchy. A little bread and butter style. Delectable!
Sides available with the burgers are butter beans, coleslaw or potato salad. The butter beans were quite simple but satisfying and a nice neutral backdrop for all the other flavors going on. The coleslaw is great. Simple and light with cabbage cut in squares not shredded. Potato salad wasn't tried. A+
Fries were solid but felt a bit Simple for this level of burger. B-
Yucca fries are spectacular! Crispy, thick, starchy, a little chewy and a dusting of parmesan. They're advertised with Chimi Churri and it's not accurate. My only gripe. I know Chimi Churri is very moist so I'd guess it'll make the fries soggy so I understand why they're not using actual Chimi but instead chopped parsley with a little garlic, chili flakes. IMHO I would take this off the menu or describe it better. The herb melange was missing oregano which is a signature of Chimi Churri and definitely needs the acid that CC has as well as much more fresh garlic. B but could be A+
We were stuffed but had the Creme Brulee and we're glad we did. It was excellent. A
All 4 of the Burgers were exceptional in combination of flavors and quality. I can assume that all the selections will be Top Notch!
Be aware, it's a pricey spot but IMHO well worth the cost.
Overall highly recommended and honestly can't wait to go back and try more items.
Great job Lisa & Team...
Read moreThis is my last meal in Sedona, and I made sure I stopped by this Lisa’s restaurant since I had such an amazing experience at Mariposa (check out my other review for that place). Lisa won 3 burger championships according to the website so I had to come here to experience the winning burgers lol. I read some reviews before I came here, mostly complaining about the price of the burger. Let me provide my point of view.
Ambiance: just like Mariposa, this restaurant is a high end burger place. The black decorations and the shinny bar works really well to elevate the atmosphere. If you notice the details, you will see butterfly in the wall art, in the name of the restaurant, and Mariposa also means butterfly in Spanish. So Lisa must love butterfly lol.
Service: I think it’s nice. But again it is a burger place so I wasn’t expecting anything crazy happening here. But people are very friendly and I had a good chat with the general manager.
Food: I ordered 2 dishes, one appetizer and one burger. The appetizer is very good. It’s a new item on the menu, mixing grilled mahi mahi, lettuce, mango and sauces. Very tasty. Reminded me of a dish I had in Cuba. For the burger, I got the 2018 championship burger, the mushroom and beef patty one. The beef patty was very well cooked to medium rare, very juicy, the mushroom is nicely sautéed, and the Dijon sauce is on point. Overall I liked my burger. I have to admit I don’t eat enough burgers (way too many good food to try) to say this is the best burger or anything, but the quality is definitely there.
For people who complaining about the prices, I would say you walked into a high end burger place, so what do you expect. This is not a McDonald’s, not even your typical $15 “premium burger” joint. This is easily a $50 per person meal place (a drink, an app and a burger). You come here ready to spend a good hour at least, catching up with friends / dates, have business discussions, and enjoy the food and ambiance. That’s how I see this place, which I think it delivers just that. ...
Read moreWent in for a late lunch after trying this venue once before in March. First time in was pleasant so we decided to give it another shot.
The Pros- the music playlist was really good. Venue asthetic is cool too and the vibe is well designed.
The cons- our server was an example of everything not to do in a customer service role, which was disappointing. After being greeted and watered by the host, her first table touch was asking "you want anything besides water". No introduction to herself or the venue, and her general attitude was very unpleasant and unfriendly. Our water cups were empty for most of the visit and when she came over to ask about dessert she already had our check in hand, banking on a no from us vs going over the 3rd course offerings. This combined with asking us if we wanted boxes in the middle of our meal made us feel rushed and unwelcome. While these may seem like minor details, for this price point ($128 for 4 burgers and 3 non alcoholic shakes) I'd expect better service. The support team was nowhere to be found (timed over 16 minutes to bus and reset a table while the venue had 14 covers max) so there were dirty dishes and empty cups laying around on a number of tables. The burgers which should have been the highlight of the visit were overcooked. No pink to be found in something advertised to be served at "the perfect medium temp". Again, what may sound like a small details become big deals when you are paying for a somewhat "conceptually elevated" experience. The restaurant advertises itself as "couture", but at least during its lunch service, this is for from reality.
Ultimately disappointed and will not be returning. Hopefully this feedback goes to improving future...
