Francesca's Fortunato — Restaurant in Frankfort

Today, I had the privilege of celebrating my best friends birthday with her. We mutually agreed to dine at this local establishment, which proved to be an ideal decision. I am quite familiar with the area, and since I had conveniently parked my vehicle in close proximity, I decided to take a leisurely stroll to the restaurant. Upon entering, I was cordially greeted by the hostess. Fortunately, I promptly located my best friend. We commenced our meal by ordering a delectable bruschetta as an appetizer. Being mindful of the remainder of the day's engagements, I judiciously selected the eggplant caprese salad as my main course. It was not only aesthetically pleasing but also remarkably flavorful. Sunday, I was really looking forward to enjoying a nice Italian meal, but unfortunately the service completely ruined the experience.

From the moment we walked in, the server seemed uninterested. She was eating in the front of customers and on one trip to the restroom I saw her talking on her phone. It felt incredibly unprofessional and gave the impression that guests were an inconvenience rather than a priority. Once seated, Amber barely checked on our table. We had to flag someone down just to get water and again to place our order. No recommendations, no sense of hospitality — just a rushed, inattentive interaction.

The food itself was decent — the rigatoni with vodka was cooked well and the sauce had nice flavor — but it was hard to enjoy the meal with such poor service. A good Italian dining experience is about more than just the food; it’s about warmth, atmosphere, and care, none of which were present here. My wife and I went there to celebrate my birthday. Was a Saturday night and upon entering was met by two different hostesses. The one who spoke with us ( younger, dark hair with glasses) asked if we had reservation. Looking around and seeing that this place was only about 1/5 occupied, I advised no. We were lead to a two person table which was next to a doorway that lead into an additional dining area as well as a large fireplace. So our options was either being cooked next to the fireplace or have server's and customers bump into you all evening. I requested a different table at which time I was told that due to not having a reservation there was nothing available. I advised that my wife and I would be leaving the restaurant at which time the second hostess took over the seating arrangement. The meal was excellent and the new accommodation was fine.
