Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Franklin

Me and my wife when to the Applebee’s located at Franklin Indiana on Saturday 24,2021 .Host approach us very fast , restaurant was not to busy , we sat down closed to the bar on those high tables ,,,, and there came the server, very nice and very customer service oriented. We asked for 2 bears and for appetizers some mozzarella sticks ,,,, and there the discomfort began,,, mozzarella sticks weren’t fully cooked... I told my wife and she told me that they were fine for her !! So you know mozzarella sticks never went back to kitchen. By the time mozzarella sticks where gone ,the food arrived to our table ,I ordered the pasta chicken bowl with the chicken on the side and my wife the rib eye which looks that was little piece of meat butterflied ,,menu said 10 oz,, but don’t look like 10oz. any ways she had mashed potatoes but they threw the mashed like if the cook was angry and on top the sour cream which look that was placed in the microwave,,,completely melted . The most amazing thing of this ordeal is that under the mashed potatoes was a piece of BBQ meat that was not from that plate ,,, manager came and told my wife that cook put mashed potatoes in the wrong plate but the meat to us look like some kind of meat from some one else !!!! The message is as follows !!! Cooks don’t know what they doing and no kitchen supervisor will...

Ok...my wife and I go there on a Saturday night for kinda date night...something we never get to do. They seat us, get ready to take our drink order and I say, "We already know what we want to get...this will be easy on you tonight." Waitress says ok. I start to order the appetizers and the waitress stops me and says, just to let you know we don't have any steak tonight, as I'm starting to point at one of the steaks on the menu. I kinda laugh a little and say, that's funny and she says no...it's not a joke, we have no steaks. I say What? She informs us that the kitchen is learning how to cut fresh steaks and they haven't learned how to do it yet...so we have no steaks. Something I think could've been said as we where being seated. They staff there is a joke. It's ran by a bunch of young kids who all I ever see doing is sitting at a bar table eating or on their phones. Mel and another young man(can't think of his name) are the two best employees they have. Management sucks...wait staff(minus the two listed above)sucks. It used to be a pretty good place to go. Think I'll contact corporate and let them know they couldn't serve steaks...hopefully it will get...

I realize the customer service has went down the drain over the last several years. And sometimes I wonder if working at restaurants like BJ’s brewhouse have impacted the way I feel in restaurants. But you can stand around at this Applebee’s all day and have the same servers and managers alike walk past you and avoid eye contact and not even acknowledge that you were there. If this happened once I would not even be here writing a review. I spent a lot of years being a server and never worked in any restaurant where it would be OK for any staff, but especially management to dodge guest in the restaurant. At least five people walked past me, and the order that I was trying to pick up including a manager and did not say a word. I asked the manager who then turned around and retrieved the order that was my order. Maybe if they don’t want to deal to go orders, they should make them accessible to customers? The restaurant industry is customer service and the people working in It should at least have a game face on! Or if they hate it, maybe they should look for a...
