Regional Management needs to pay a visit to this restaurant. My wife and I dined there over the weekend. We ordered for an appetizer, the Bang Bang Shrimp. When the shrimp came out, it was cold. As our dinner was about ready to come out, we asked to cancel the appetizer. No manager came out to check on our table or apologize, but the Bang Bang Shrimp was taken off the tab. When our dinners came out, my side order of sauteed spinach came out in a bowl and it was raw, and not even cooked! I sent that back, and the server brought me correct sauteed spinach. Once again, no manager came to our table, as the server once again brought out the corrected side dish. I noticed the whole time we were eating, there were several paper napkins by our table and another table that was on the floor. No server or staff member bothered to pick them up. No manager was on the floor either to go around and speak with guests about their experience. Upon leaving I went in the bathroom. The wood dividing wall between the urinal and the stall was weathered, and the varnish and polyurethane was worn off, looking really run down. The trash can under the sink was overflowing, and had about 20 paper towels on the floor. The part that bothers me most, though is our receipt. Look at the bottom of the picture I have shared where the tip guide is. The Tip Guide is highly off, and it isn't a mistake. The amount they are showing for a 15% tip is $8.68. To someone glancing at their bill, they might not pick up on this as an intentional scam. If you go off the price of the pre-tax sub total, a 15% tip would be $6.42. If you tipped off the after tax total, the tip would be $7.04. There is between a 23%-35% discrepancy, depending on before or after tax tipping. The same formula holds true for their suggested amounts of an 18% tip and a 20% tip. This is NOT just a mistake. Someone had to manipulate the register's formula to get it to override the correct amount on a 15%, 18% or 20% tip. Look at the discrepancy on the 20% tip! If you tip pre tax, the correct tip is $8.56. If you tip after tax, the tip would be $9.39. The register has been manipulated to where the suggested tip for 20% is 11.57!!! To be fair to our server, our server was fine. I have removed the server's name from the check out of courtesy, and she was tipped the correct 20%. This is a total management issue that needs to be addressed. There are too many choices for dining in Franklin, TN for managers to not care how the restaurant is run, or how the check tip totals have been manipulated. This tip scam can equate to hundreds a night in extra money. Highly disappointed in...
Read moreThe Service: After being seated, we waited approximately 8 minutes before our waiter acknowledged us. He quickly apologized for the mix-up, taking ownership of the blunder. We appreciated the gesture, hit the reset button and moved on. Our beverage order was incorrect, waiter dropped 1-2 pieces of our shrimp appetizer on the floor (still charged us full price for appetizer, no attempt to replace dropped pieces, or an apology/solution offered).
On a table checkup while were eating the remaining Bang Bang Shrimp, the waiter goes on a weird little rant about how "Americans love their fried food" and talked about another appetizer that he thinks we should have ordered instead that was 'much better'. After dropping our shrimp, then clearly talking down on our order, its clear the waiter gave up on us.
-- The waiter seemed to be a geuinely nice guy, I don't think he was intentionally rude at all. He just seemed to have an "off-day". Appeared frazzled, and a couple early blunders set the tone for just a very sub-par experience that he wanted to end as soon as possible, and he wore it heavily.
The Food:
The bread and oil was great! The bang bang shrimp was great, wish I had 1-2 more pieces ;) !
The Fish and chips were god awful! I tasted oil, salt, and batter in that order. At no point did I take a bite and think this is enjoyable. At every point I had to inspect my fork to confirm there was actually cod in there. As a seafood junkie from New England, Fish and chips is a hometown favorite. This was awfully executed top to bottom. 'Chips' means potato wedges not french fries. Lazy oversight and subpar execution of a classic.
My girlfriend went with the Lily's chicken, which was interesting. Chicken was tough, and the flavors fought with each other rather than creating any kind of synergy. Good ideas, but something was just didn't tie it together.
Overall: After the waiters introduction explaining how everything is fresh daily, and everything made in house, I can't say the experience lived up the expecations set from our fist exchange. At no point did I feel like our business was valued or appreciated, the service nor our meal lived up toexpectations or price point. We felt like we got sports bar service at 2x the price. We both agreed on the ride home that there was nothing about our experience that makes us excited to come back.
2 Stars. Our experience was probably the exception to the rule, but damn. 1 star for service, 1 star for food....
Read moreI'd like to start this off by saying I have worked in service for 10 years and that I now work in regional capacity. This is my first review.
We visited last week. My experience began after walking through the revolving doors. We were greeted by a young host, or rather not greeted for almost a full minute that it took for her to peel her eyes up from her phone screen and even notice we were there.
Once we were seated, our server did a phenomenal job guiding us through the menu and suggestively selling. She was the only decent part of this entire experience. Once our order arrived, my husband's salad was probably 1/4 warm and brown edged lettuce. They 100% brought him an old salad that had been sitting under the heat. My fish was extremely overcooked, and my side of mashed potatoes were ice cold. The broccoli was decent enough aside from being moderately underdone. I understand, things happen, but these are the things that really frustrated me and disgusted even more, and why we will not be back. 1. We were harassed by maybe 3 gnats/flies the entire time while eating, and the next 2 will follow.
We explained the situation to our server. She said she would inform the general manager to come over and speak with us. She never did. She did find the time to go and spend 20 minutes talking, laughing, and so on at the corner of the bar with other customers. We did however get one entreé removed, and were offered a free dessert.
Before we finished that conversation, I went to the ladies room where I saw 2 roaches scurry under the counter underneath the trash basket things. We promptly paid and left.
If I ever walked into one of my restaurants and experienced this, the person running it would be gone on the same day. Absolutely unacceptable. I pity the employees at this location, because from what I saw and heard (aside from the host) they seem very good. My husband and I will stick to the murfeesboro Bonefish, unfortunately, even though it is a longer drive.
I did wonder why it was so slow when we came in. Now I know why. It also explains all the obviously AI generated reviews from fake accounts. Go figure. This place will be closed within...
