I usually love this store but over the years the quality and selection has gone down. Buckles and straps broken in both Murfreesboro and cool Springs stores as well as smelly and worn insoles. Most recently I just went to cool Springs and looked at a pair of Michael Kors rain boots with obvious discoloration. Now apparently there were two sets of the same with heavy discoloration but with different prices marked at $49.99 And $59.99. The pair I had most likely matched together despite The discolor. The sales lady never once smiled and had a rude attitude and just looked at the bottom and said "these don't match." She then proceeded to get the other pair where she mixed and match3d them like cups on a table. I knew which one I chose bc again the pair I chose had similar discoloration where it matched the most. She had no clue which ones went together..but told me I was wrong and which I politely passed on the rain boots then took the pair back behind the counter where she got the white marker to rewrite the price. She needs an attitude adjustment. Sad to say I probably won't be going back to either stores as well as several of my clients have told me how they haven't liked the store the last times they've gone. This last visit with the rude attendant sealed the deal for me. I hate it bc I love to support faith based businesses but still expect friendly staff. Why not just let me purchase the pair of boots even though they were priced off different but we're the exact same as the other both with terrible discoloration? Get the $50 dollar revenue instead of letting it sit on the shelf. No one will buy a pair of boots w obviously different discolorations that don't match at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhile Iāve always loved shopping at Marti & Liz and have purchased the majority of my shoes here, Iāve recently been disappointed by the store's decision to showcase political merchandise. Earlier this year, I walked into a large display of party-affiliated socks, shirts, and other items. It felt out of place and made me uncomfortableāespecially since it didnāt seem to represent all viewpoints. I told myself I wouldnāt return.
When I did give it another try recently, the same thing happened. To my surprise, a younger employee walked in and immediately removed the display, saying, āI told them not to put this stuff out. We are not doing politics.ā Moments later, an older employee at the register loudly told her to āput it back.ā The tension between staff was uncomfortable and, honestly, embarrassing.
I shop here for shoes, handbags, and clothesānot politics. I applaud the employee who tried to redirect the focus back to the customer experience. Unfortunately, this incident left a bad impression. I hope Marti & Liz will take this feedback seriously and prioritize creating an inclusive and neutral shopping environment where all customers feel welcome.
I also hope this review is taken seriously since you asked me to complete it. This review is for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYou can not beat the prices on the shoes. And they have the GOOD shoes! Been shopping at this store for over 20 years. This was my first visit since 2020, so it had been a while, but they have since expanded to carry the cutest clothes. Now, they were a bit pricey as I don't think those are the "worn once" items, but were definitely beautiful and good quality.
One complaint. They were blasting Way FM. Hard right Christian radio. If they weren't playing christian music, they were talking about praying to the Almighty and loving Jesus. Everything about it was overkill. I am a Christian, but that was just too much. Had to put my earbuds in and turn my music up loud. (I chose some 1960's Rock. Seemed appropriate) That very well may keep me from ever going back. They may as well have had their politics smeared all over their display windows. For me, it's the same thing. Years in the service industry have taught me that you do not show your political or religious preference to your customer base. Ever. Not everyone worships that way, but hey, it is Franklin, TN, buckle of the Bible Belt. I don't even hear that at Hobby Lobby.
Maybe they only want Christians in their store. Sure felt like it. It was...
