To my understanding they haven’t been open long from the sign going into the plaza where it’s located.
EDIT: they’ve only been open for over a year.
It was my friend’s birthday so we decided to go here. We decided to use the burners integrated in the table on our next visit- where you can make your own soup for two (or more) and have two different soups cooking in the same pot if you like. The options they have available for making your own hot pot- there’s so many! They have a handful of premade combos and you can build your own creation, I definitely want to indulge in those options next time.
ONTO THE REVIEW:
I ordered General Tso’s Chicken, a Chinese-American classic dish. It was sweet, savory, and had the right amount of kick you’d expect. (The picture doesn’t do it justice how much was actually on the plate. I’m a big guy- I almost didn’t finish it because of how much you get for the price.)
The ambiance was unique- I enjoyed seeing the artwork on the walls and what they decided to hang from the ceiling. You’ll have to stop by to check it out ;)
Shortly near the end of our meal a woman across the booths locked eyes with me. She was standing next to a man (I assumed she was eating with) and the expression in her eyes came off to me as she was distraught. Shortly after she started to yell “help, something is wrong.” Staff hurried over, I quickly pulled my phone out to call 911 just in case- the man she was standing over, to me, looked like he was choking. Turned out he had passed out and she had never seen him do what he did before and it scared her. The situation deescalated when he said “I’m not going to the hospital”.
Reason for sharing this bit was because staff was responsive and cooperative- what you’d want from a team offering you a space to eat their food you know? It was nice to see.
I look forward to eating here again when I’m...
Read moreI’ve been waiting for this place to open for ages and it was well worth the wait! Like any good hotpot, the experience was very customizable and interactive. You can either get your own small pot or share a large pot, which can even be split with two different broths. The tables have hot plates and you cook the ingredients at the table. The portions are generous so I would recommend starting small and ordering as you need more. There is also a mix your own sauce bar with many different options for every taste palette.
I’m personally a huge fan pork bone broth and all the different mushrooms. For noodles, I can’t recommend udon enough. The thick noodles hold together well in the broth, especially since you’ll probably be there a while. To top it off, I love some spinach or other leafy green like watercress. They also have combo trays if you aren’t sure what to choose.
The staff were very friendly and the restaurant has a cohesive and relaxed atmosphere. The decor and tableware are beautiful and really set the tone. This would be a great place for a special occasion like birthdays, since it can get a bit pricey if you’re not careful.
I can’t wait to see what options come as they are open longer! Thanks for bringing this to Franklin!
Edit: I went back again today (4/8) and the menu has more options and the food was just...
Read moreUPDATE: Their grill (for skewers) is now available. Added photos and videos! 2nd time visiting and it still remains my favorite hotpot!
I think we just found our new favorite hotpot restaurant!
What we love: ✅ The restaurant is spacious, floor is clean (not sticky), sorta modern: you place your order via iPad ✅ The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. If you ask for picture, they will take it from 3 different angles! ✅ The pork bone broth has real bone (see video) and tastes soo good! ✅ The hotpot ingredients are fresh and good portion ✅ Refillable drinks and soup base ✅ Menu is flexible, you can have a solo hotpot, large hotpot to share and choice of large split soup base (if you want to have spicy and non-spicy soup base) ✅ Affordable (in my opinion) - i prefer more soup so I just added beef, cabbage, quail eggs, fried tofu and enoki mushroom. The solo soup base is just $6.95 and the beef is just $9.99. ✅ We finished everything even the soup base. That’s how good it is! 😋
Downsides (which are definitely okay for us): ✅ Unlike Shabu Shabu, no grill/hotpot combo ✅ Unlike Shabu Shabu, hotpot ingredients are...
