It was a long day at work and I was contemplating dinner and my co-worker was like “you want to go to Nashville Pizza Company for dinner?” and I was like “Sounds great! I don’t have to cook.”
It’s a small, pub like place with a diners, drive in and dives type feel with dark ceiling, dark floors and a walk up counter.
Our server Amanda Cate was polite, friendly and quick to help.
I ordered a large Meat Lovers so I could take some home to the flatmate and my co-worker got a Sausage Supreme with added pepperoni and ham so he could take some home to his family.
A couple of cold shiner bocks and some crispy, saucy and chock full of toppings pizza makes for a great dinner and excellent service makes the experience even better.
Here’s the breakdown:
Fast and friendly service from Amanda Cate +1 star; cold and frosty beers on tap +1 star; crisp crust and generous toppings pizza +1 star; nice pub like feel +1 star and a fifth star because I enjoyed my dinner and had plenty left over for the flatmate.
A definite addition to my...
Read moreThe pizza is usually good. However, the last time we were there the waitress brought out a pizza that was way, way overdone. The cheese was clearly burned hard, and the crust was more like a dried cracker. We were in a rush so we could not wait for a second one. I flagged the manager and she immediately knew. She had passed the table a number of times and could not have failed to see it. Shame on the cook for letting that pie out of the kitchen, the waitress for serving it, and the manager for not saying anything until I called her over. We didn't pay for it as she agreed it was burned, and left most of it there. We didn't stiff the waitress though who was a young girl. The house salad is not very good. The service is good, and the waitress and manager were friendly. The place has black painted drop ceiling tiles and low light. The outside light is so bright that it is difficult to see inside, especially if you are facing the outside windows. If you have the time, order out, and check the pizza before you walk...
Read moreThis can be a 5 star local pizza place, but it seems to depend on the day you catch them. Their pies are thinner crust so you have to like that style. When the stars align the pizzas are amazing. They have sandwiches, great boneless wings, and delicious garlic knots, plus some salads and sides. Beer selection is good for a small place. The beers are always cold, come in icy mugs, and priced right.
Unfortunately…service is very hit or miss. Leslie is always amazing, but there are a plethora of young servers that are clueless. Out of the last several times we’ve been our server has just disappeared at some point at least half of those times. Hand off to other servers doesn’t exist. Food takes a long time to come out and inevitably at least one pizza comes out wrong. Management has been kind and comped many of those meals due to these issues, but that’s just a bandaid. I feel like getting the pizza right, better trained servers, and floor management would be a huge help. Then it would be 5...
