Went there for lunch today 7/12/17 around 2 - 3 o'clock, huge mistake! !! !!! Waitress was very nice, brought us our drinks and took our order. Simple - or so we thought. I ordered a full rack of ribs, salad and sweet potato. My wife ordered the Salmon well done, baked potato and salad. Salad portion of lunch was plesant. Ribs and Salmon were brought out to our table, ribs were only warm to the touch, Salmon seemed okay. Waitress asked how everything was. I mentioned the ribs were cool to touch - would she be kind enough to put them in the microwave to warm them up - she agreed. As my wife took her second bite of salmon it too was cool. She then cut the salmon in two only to find it bright pink and cold inside. We spoke with the waitress, she seen the condition of the salmon and removed it from our table apologizing for the mishap. A few minutes passed, then the manager arrived at our table apologizing for the condition of our meals, asked if my wife if she would like to order something else. Of course she said, she ordered the parmesan chicken and a baked potato. The manager left the table.
Soon after the waitress came out to our table with my warmed ribs, but my sweet potato was missing... A few minutes later the waitress came back to our table to see how my ribs were when I mentioned I would like to have my sweet potato brought back to the table.
When I was almost through my meal my wife's chicken came out. So far lunch has been a calamity of errors. In short I asked for the check and two to go boxes. We put our meals in the to go boxes and reviewed the check. They removed the salmon from the check, charged us for the parmesan chicken and over charged us for the ribs. I asked to see a menu, pointed out the over charge for the ribs. The waitress offered to fix it. I said no thanks, I just wanted to pay the bill, leave her the 20% suggested tip and get out of there. We paid the bill including the suggested 20% tip, left the to go boxes at the table and left.
I hope someone of authority reads this review and speaks with the staff that was on duty today. Needless to say we will not patronize this location again until the manager and cook have been either replaced or retrained. Longhorn - this isn't what I expect when I take my wife...
Read moreI had very low expectations with it being a chain restaurant but unfortunately even those were not met. The hostess was great. Greeting and seating us promptly and friendly.
We waited about 10-15 minutes for our server to arrive. She took our drink order. I had a cocktail and my mom had a soft drink. It took awhile for the drinks to come out. I suspect they forgot to put alcohol in my cocktail. We then ordered an appetizer. The appetizer came out rather quickly but no sign of our server with plates and bread for another 10-15 minutes after the appetizer came out.
She took our order. My mother requested extra butter for her baked potato. The food came out in a reasonable but without extra butter. The dining room assistant that delivered the food asked if we needed anything else. My mother asked for butter. He said he would get it. The server came over to check about 15 minutes later. That's a reasonable time. She still did not have her butter so she asked again. We laughed as we thought she'd end up getting extra extra butter. She did not. She used the bread butter instead. After we were done eating the server finally brought butter. If they had been busy, that's slightly understandable. When I say in the review no sight of the server, she was well in sight. Standing at an order station 10 feet from our table talking.
I ordered the bacon filet, medium. It came out medium rare which is how I normally order it. I don't like going that rare and a place like this but it was ok. The bacon on top appeared to be packaged Oscar Meyers Real Bacon Bits. Small pieces and not very crispy or tasty. How do you mess up bacon? The mashed potatoes were scooped on the plate with an ice cream scoop. The entire meal felt and tasted like a high school cafeteria.
Now, for the cleanliness. Under our table was the silverware from I assume the last guests. I used the men's room. It was disgusting. Urine splattered everywhere near the urinals and paper towels and toilet paper on the floor. The urine was obviously not one person in a puddle but little splashes.
Now, the manager did check on us. He didn't stop at our table as much as walk by and ask if everything was ok while still walking without waiting...
Read moreFood - lost a star because other longhorns are more consistent with being exceptional. This one has handed me a few meals that have had issues. One being Brussel sprouts. They aren’t always the same I’ve gotten very small portions; the sauce sometimes isn’t the same and I’ve gotten like what would be best described as being the bottom of a bag of sprouts that are just small and mostly leaf. But they can be soooo amazingly good. Under cooked steaks seem to also happen here I ordered medium for my son and it came back at best medium rare but really pretty rare. Has also happened to me when asking for medium rare it’s come very rare. Service- lost two stars for we have seen waitresses in the bathroom with their black note book thing in the stall with them (they came out holding it so obviously being touched with out washing hands). We’ve had waiters disappear on us for long periods of time, not bringing coffee refills. Things like this. The bathroom thing mentioned is totally disgusting. Atmosphere- it’s decent. However more often than not it has been wayyy to hot in there. On my one birthday (which for the last three years we’ve celebrated at a longhorn) it was so hot in there it made me sick and I didn’t even want to eat. Which also happened to be a time I got some really rare steak fed to me; the manager came to apologize but other than that, didn’t offer anything, when everyone else ate their food and mine was served much after I had told them it needed cooked more. I like rare; this wasn’t cooked.
Anyway; other longhorns have been more consistent ; but I’ll be back here and hope to change some of these stars for you all.
I don’t like many places but I always suggest longhorn to anyone; including this one.
So I’ll come back again soon and have more...
