My family and I got to the theater about 20 minutes before our movie started only to find out that the movie we selected was playing in 3D at that time and our movie would be over an hour wait.
This was a little upsetting since the 3rd party website we used to select the movie did not have this time slot labeled as 3D. Normally 3D would not be a big deal, but we have a 2 year old!
We decided to purchase tickets and go into the mall to get something to eat.
When we came back the manager recognized me and pulled me aside. He explained that the 3rd party site did have the movie labeled wrong and he didn't not want my family to have a bad experience at the theater. He was very concerned about our visit and wanted to make sure we were well accommodated.
It was an amazing display of customer service and it completely blew me and my family away. It was just a small little thing, but he was genuinely concerned about our time at his theater.
If you are going to visit this theater (or any) make sure you use the theaters website and not a 3rd party!
We ended up having a great night and watched a great movie. (Hotel Transylvania) We have been to this theater many times over the last 7 years and we will continue to come here because of the service we...
Read moreI just saw The Revenant on their IMAX screen. I'm not sure if there was some problem with how the movie was encoded or interlaced, or the refresh rate on the projector, but whenever the camera panned at all or there was a lot of movement, the entire screen turned into a big blurry mess.
The picture was also pretty dark, and I've read that a lot of IMAX theaters don't run their projector brightness at full power to extend the life of the expensive bulbs. Since the mills has been slowly dying and becoming a ghost town over the past few years, them doing this wouldn't surprise me.
The picture itself wasn't even that sharp. It looked like they just took a standard resolution movie and blew it up big. The "Welcome to IMAX" intro thing that was made for the screen looked incredible, full resolution, and sharp as heck, but the actual movie resolution was pretty unimpressive.
When I saw Gravity in IMAX 3D here it was incredible, but The Revenant at mills IMAX was a complete waste of money. The blurriness whenever there was a lot of movement was just awful. I wish I had just gone and seen it on a regular screen at the new Cinemark North Hills...
Read moreMy husband and I attended Pittsburghs reptile show by Reptiroots Epic 35th anniversary two day event. Lots of vendors with various repti babies at great prices. We love to support Breeder's all around the country, we've been travailing to various places for a few years now. It never gets boring only more exciting. This show was huge, 3 1/2 huge rooms! Tables setup wall to wall. All your local PA vendors plus a ton of out of state vendors. Everything from Colubrids to your venomous to your monitors and geckos, also had exotic cats, all sorts of assorted repti babies. We got to add an additional repti baby to our growing fam; Celeste, a 6mo old female ambilobe panther RBYB. She's spicy, spunky, beautiful and hides when eye contact is made. She's stopped flaring up when people look at her. That's lots of progress made already for such a young Cham baby! Want to give a shout out to Pat from All Things Wild, who sold us this baby girl and the amazing piece of wood. My husband mounted it to a platform so that our chams and beardies can have some free time. This show was a success. We were first timers and glad to have...
