New Dimension Comics - Pittsburgh Mills — Local services in Frazer Township

Been here on and off a lot over the last two years. The review is mainly for the shop and staff. The second part of the review will be for the actual patrons that visit.

The store is organized pretty ok, I can find what I’m looking for fast, which is either the cards or the board games. They have little sections where we can look through loose cards to pick what we like. The glass cases could use a wipe down every so often. I can see where people come in and get their prints everywhere. The game room is spacious enough to accommodate a lot of players. There’s even enough space to have two tourneys and a group who only play boards games all at once. The staff is around my age and understand references to modern spiel and can hold pretty good convos. Only problem with some staff they hire is either they are kinda awkward once they open up, or they hire pretty girls to bring in the male crowd. One girl they had was very knowledgeable but I hadn’t seen her since.

The player base however... it brings in the low to mid range group of younger teens to up to, but not excluding 40+ year olds. You can tell they are kinda rough around the edges, a ten year old was losing to me and started shouting expletives back in early 2018, and no one around the child would try to control or calm him. so I haven’t played there since. Then you have the older players that should know better, but either don’t care or just doesn’t know that deodorant and a shower is a thing. even my girlfriend once mentioned it to me, and kindly asked one player who was the offender to do something about it, and he told us to quote “sod off if you don’t like it, b*h”. My friends and I were hanging out at the mall, as we usually do on the weekends. My friend accidentally knocked over a trash can outside of the store. The trash can did not belong to the Comic Book store. We picked up the trash can and put it where we found it. As we were walking towards the comic store, a man was standing outside of the store staring at our friend group. He then went inside the store. We felt sorry for disturbing his business (he was an employee), so we entered the store and apologized to the cashier. Two employees felt annoyed, so we just left and went on with our day. As we were leaving the store, a man stepped out and yelled “I’m going to call the cops if you don’t leave”. I then asked him for what crime, and he replied “You know what crime”. I then asked him again because I did not want to commit a crime, and he insulted me by asking if I was “deaf”. He pronounced this word like “deef”. When I heard his mispronunciation, I bursted in laughter and he was very embarrassed. A nice lady was walking behind us during this argument, and even she was nice enough to step in and defend us. The man continued to argue and shout at this innocent woman. Overall, He created a scene in the mall over something very stupid. This was a core memory for me and my friends. I believe the store has quality products, but the fact that I was treated poorly for no reason is why I am making this review. Keep in mind, My friends and I are high schoolers and it’s honestly sad that a grown man was getting mad at us for knocking over...

AVOID STAY AWAY I have only dealt with this store 2 times and both times I have been lied to by their staff. First time I called in, the girl that was on the line was on her cell phone arguing with I assume her boyfriend when she finally amswered the store phone because I overheard their conversation in the background. I asked if they had a product, she asked if she could take my number and call me back after she checked. I dont believe she ever wrote my number down or checked because I didnt get a call back. I called back about a half hour before closing, the same girl answered and said she lost my number but they didnt have the product which was a lie because I went there the next day to see for myself and bought what i called about. 2nd experience was day before yesterday I called about 3 particular cards. Same speal by the guy. Give me your number ill look and call you back. Never got a call. Called back Yesterday said I was looking for 3 cards he asked which 3 cards I told him the first card name, he put me on hold, came back 5 seconds later and said we dont have them. I said I only told you one card so far he said ya we dont have it. I said what card did you look for? He couldn't even name the card. He was totally just lazy and lying. I will never do business there or recommend them to anyone. A bunch...
