This was my first time dining at this restaurant, and I had a pretty good experience overall! The gentleman at the cash register provided excellent customer service. He was super patient while I was figuring out my order and helped clarify the menu for me. I went for the Yasa Chicken with rice and couldn't resist adding some Puff Puff to my order. The Puff Puff was served piping hot, and I just had to take a bite right awayâso delicious! The rice was cooked to perfection, and the caramelized onions and veggies really elevated the dish, giving it a wonderful flavor. Plus, the portion size was great for the price! While I enjoyed most of my meal, I found the chicken a bit dry and hard, and it felt like it might have been reheated from the previous day. I was also hoping for a little more heat or spice in the dish. As a fan of authentic African food, I was surprised that this dish didnât have any spicy kick or peppers. All in all, I think this restaurant is definitely worth a visit, as there are some tasty options on the menu. I believe in giving a place at least two tries, so I'm looking forward to coming back and sampling...
Read moreI recently ordered the Red Snapper with Jollof rice, the Suya beef, and the fufu with sauce graine. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. The Jollof rice was quite bland and the snapper, while nicely presented, didnât have much meat. The restaurant was out of the sauce graine and provided a peanut sauce instead, but it lacked flavor and the fufu had an unusual aftertaste. The Suya beef was decent, though the portion size was smaller than expected.
I was really hoping this would become a go-to spot since itâs close by, but the dishes didnât quite capture the flavors I was looking forward to. With some improvements to seasoning, consistency, and portion sizes, I believe this restaurant could deliver a much...
Read moreWe were traveling through the Washington, D.C., area on the way to Vermont. We stopped for dinner at this small African restaurant (we had originally thought it was an Ethiopian restaurant, it is an African restaurant with a west African emphasis). The decor is simple and they play African tunes as background music. We ordered the grilled tilapia fish, pounded plantains, rice, and a special sauce. The fish, a fish's head, was good. There are vegan options on the menu, but they are only available during the weekend (we were there on a weekday night). These service is friendly and definitely African. We were able to talk to our waiter about the cuisine and his background, he was from...
