Dairy Queen (Treat) — Restaurant in Frederick

Awful drive through service today. Intercom is barebones so we double checked the order at the window and found that they got one item wrong. No big deal. Asked them to correct it and get the blizzard shake that we want. However, we first meet resistance, and the young woman (who was trying to rush us when we were at the intercom - even though they weren't busy) argues that we were incorrect. Silly way to interact with the customer.

She eventually relents to make what we requested, and first gives us a dipped cone on the order for which there was no confusion. She also charges my card.

She then makes the correct blizzard shake order, hands it over, and quickly closes her window. Comes back a minute later and says, "yes?" ... wondering why we're still there. I ask her for my receipt, a couple of napkins, and a spoon (there was no spoon or straw given with the blizzard). She quickly hands these items over, and closes the window, not saying a word. So not only is she incompetent, she's rude.

Even though today was a 1-star experience, overall, I'm giving them a 3-star because we've had 3- to 4- star experiences there before (rating them against other fast food establishments). We've also had confusion through their intercom once before, but they've always been pleasant at the window or inside counter. I hope they're not slipping and this isn't indicative of newer staff that they've brought on board.

Word of advice. If you run into someone on the intercom trying to rush your order when using this DQ's drive through, because there is no order display to confirm they got it right, double check your order at the window. Some working the drive through window will automatically repeat your order to you, but the person who doesn't, might not really care about the quality of their work, customer satisfaction, or getting the...

It has never failed at this location the complete lack of consistency. Any blizzard from this location is made differently each time. It's like gambling. Maybe it will be good or maybe it will just be vanilla ice cream with the sad resemblance of what it should be. Cotton candy blizzard is amazing provided they actually put the correct amount of flavoring in. Again..gambling. sometimes it's amazing and sometimes it's just over priced vanilla ice cream with evidence that it's suppose to be something amazing and wonderful but it's not at all that. It's a large cup of complete sadness and disappointment, like when you find out that Santa Claus...

Hit or miss, overall it's usually disappointing. Their blizzards are usually okay. On our last visit however the chocolate shake was runny, they didn't add malt as ordered (okay maybe they didn't hear it), and shake was clearly just vanilla with chocolate syrup added. Roy Rogers across the street has better shakes.

Pineapple sundae was just soft serve with pineapple chunks in lite, watery syrup, like out of a fruit cup. Not even the topping style pineapple sauce. Nothing else. I wouldn't call that a sundae.
