Hoffman Brothers Ice Cream — Restaurant in Frederick

Unfortunately never will come back. Freezer burned flavorless ice cream. Had a not great experience on 4/8 around 7pm. Service was not good. First they didn’t know if they take google pay (they definitely take apple? It is just pay bye phone so it’s a yea by default). We were going to get a cone, but they upcharge a whole dollar for a basic cone that probably cost less than 10 cents for them. Then after deciding on one scope vanilla, he put it in a cup, we ended up wanting two scoops. Apparently he can’t put the extra scoop in the same cup because different cup = different amount of scoops. That means that the scoopage is not correct across the board and you’re paying more for less if you end up getting two scoops (and Litterally what the guy said too). So we went with one since he couldn’t just you know, put one scoop on top of the other … ( we were going to be charged 6$ x 2 rather than 8$ for two scoops). It’s ice cream, how much are you losing for this little difference? Other than a customer… The worst part. The ice cream itself is NOT good. It absolutely was freezer burned. We got vanilla bean and it hardly tasted of anything. Just bean, not vanilla. Afterward all I tasted was freezer. Really had high hopes for this. Left super disappointed with...

We happened to be walking past this place before dinner and there was a line. We looked it up online and decided we would stop on our way back. Holy crap! Glad we did, the ice cream was awesome, so delicious. I grabbed two scoops, 1st scoop was chocolate love and the second scoop was Carmel crunch both worked together. The young man that helped us suggested that we try a scoop of honey gram and roasted strawberry to get a strawberry cheesecake kind of flavor. Good idea but I already ordered. My daughter grabbed the cookie and a pint to go. When we arrived no line, when we left a new line had formed. We followed them on instagram as well. No pictures because I devoured my cup. My husband and I came to Hoffman Brothers tonight in 37-degree weather and this place did not disappoint! The young man behind the counter was a delight and the ice cream was fantastic. The coffee flavor in the coffee Oreo ice cream really came out and I thoroughly savored every bite. The Oreo bits were generous too. My husband got the mint ice cream with a cone and Oreo toppings and really enjoyed his too. The samples we tried were also so yummy. Notables were the roasted strawberry, caramel crunch, and honey graham, though everything we tried was delicious.

We can’t wait to make this a routine pit stop every time we visit Frederick...
