Austin Street Creamery — Restaurant in Fredericksburg

My husband loves ice cream so I always try to find a local place for us to try when we are on vacation. We stopped at Austin Street Creamery after dinner on Saturday night. It’s nice that they stay open until 9pm because every other game in town is closed by that time.

The shop is a walk up window in a super cute little house not far from Main Street. The couple at the window was incredibly friendly and said that they went to ice cream school to perfect all their flavors. Not sure if you can try different flavors before ordering but that option was not offered to us. I went with a scoop of the Austin Street Chocolate and my husband got a scoop of the Fredericksburg Peach and a scoop of the strawberry. I tried the mint chocolate chip, and it was refreshingly vibrant, with the perfect balance of mint and rich chocolate. The birthday cake flavor was a delightful nostalgia trip, bursting with sprinkles and that classic funfetti frosting taste. And the salted caramel? Pure bliss! The sweetness of the caramel perfectly complemented the hint of salt, creating a decadent treat.

We were visiting Fredericksburg, TX and looking for an ice cream shop that used clean, real ingredients. That’s when we discovered Austin Street Creamery, and it was such a great find.

Marsha and Steve, the owners, were so kind and welcoming. Their ice cream is made with real vanilla, real chocolate, and no preservatives. You can truly taste the difference. They care about quality and it shows in every scoop.

We tried the Salted Caramel Crunch, which is their top seller, and it was absolutely delicious. We also loved the Split Decision, which was creamy and full of flavor. Dairy free options as well.
