My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights over this past labor day weekend for our anniversary. It was our first time in Fredericksburg and we are so glad we stayed here. Upon learning it was our first time, the woman in the office gave us a map and made multiple suggestions based off of what we were wanting to do during our time there. She was very helpful and friendly.
When we arrived to our cottage, we stayed in Winterberry #6, there was a personalized note wishing us a happy anniversary. The cottage was so cute and cozy. The towels, linens, and robes felt luxurious. The bed was like a cloud that you just sink into. There was a great big shower and soaking tub. It was fully stocked with the usual Keurig, K-cups, mini fridge, toiletries, etc. However, no microwave.
We did take advantage of their public area one night. There are a few different communal outdoor sitting areas, the main one having a large outdoor fireplace. We enjoyed a few drinks with the fire going.
The location is also great. Just a block away from Main Street, it made most things walking distance. We did venture out to a couple of wineries and breweries but they were within a 5-10 minute drive. Also, even though Trueheart is so close to Main Street, you don't hear any noise from Main Street. It's very...
Read moreWhat a wonderful place to stay in Fredericksburg! My husband and I stayed in the Persimmon suite to celebrate our 25th anniversary and were welcomed by two of the sweetest cats you’ll ever meet. The garden surrounding all the cabins and suites are beautiful. We saw butterflies and hummingbirds every day as we sat in the rocking chairs on our front porch. The decor was perfect and the bed was so comfortable. The bath and shower were so relaxing but my favorite place was the private outdoor shower. The last morning we were there they offered a small breakfast to be dropped off at our door. Homemade biscuits, butter, honey, peach jam and fresh squeezed orange juice were delivered in the cutest picnic basket. The grounds are so serene and have several areas to sit outside near a small creek and wooded lot as well as an outdoor fireplace. You forget that you’re in the middle of town! You are walking distance to all the best shopping, restaurants and museum. The only aspect I would mention is the cabins and suites on the side closest to the street can hear the road traffic but it dies down after 10 pm. The website does mention this in the room descriptions as well. We would definitely stay here again. This place was the...
Read moreJust stayed at Sugarberry for our wedding weekend and LOVED it. I anticipate we'll be going back frequently now for anniversaries and I never want to stay anywhere else. We were in the Clementine cottage, first floor, right in the middle of the property and it was perfect. The whole property is quiet, even though it's conveniently located just a block off main street, and we felt totally secluded in our cottage. The property is also beautiful--we did our "first look" behind the fire pit in the yard and it was private, serene and a beautiful backdrop. The owners were super nice and accomodating with our arrival schedule, and breakfast was delicious--eggs, bacon, potatoes, fruit, all sorts of breads and coffees and teas. The room itself was plenty big, even for the bride to get hair and makeup done in! The bathroom was amazing, separate toilet and shower, garden tub, outdoor shower--I want to get ready in here every day!! Little kitchenette was helpful for keeping water in the fridge and opening a bottle of wine at the end of the day. We loved every bit about it and hope to...
