This place is really good if you're craving Korean food. Because I rarely go to a Korean restaurant, I can't really speak for its authenticity or anything like that.
But what I CAN speak for is this:
I loved the flavors of everything I've ever ordered at Mom's Tofu, authentic or not. They always satisfy my cravings for Korean food and that's all I need! I am happy ^__^
The service here is really good. I've had two different waiters during my two visits and they were both super friendly and happily answered any questions I had. They also scream THANK YOU when you leave which makes you feel appreciated as a customer. YOU'RE WELCOME (: (:
The food was served really fast, although we went around when they opened and there weren't that many others in the restaurant yet.
My stone pot today was hot and delicious. The spicy pork was a perfect mix of spiciness and sweetness. I really wish they gave me more of it though. For $13 a pot, the meat and everything else in the pot ratio was so off! After I stirred everything together, the meat was nowhere to be found. They have to still be in the pot, right???
The tofu soup that my boyfriend ordered was really good too. He said it was too spicy this time but I didn't think so. He just can't handle it when things get too hot, harhar ;) If we traded our dishes, I would have been equally as happy with my dining experience!
While I'm sure there are better Korean places around, this place never...
Read moreThe food was good and flavorful. I had the Kimchee Tofu soup combo with Galbi and my husband had the spicy pork. But I gave them 2 stars because the service was subpar. Our group of 6 each ordered food and they served us half of the meal and didn't come back with the rest. We had to flag someone down even after pressing the help bell that they provide at each table. When we did ask about the missing entrées they just said yeah yeah as they were walking away while we were listing the missing items. Then a few minutes later someone walks by and didn't ask us anything just looked to see what we had at our table. Few more minutes pass by and my husband received his spicy pork and they finally asked us what were missing and we told them. We liked the food but that was annoying to say the least. That wasn't the last of it. When we got our bill they wrote in the tip for us!! We all looked at each other wondering if it's legal for them to do. Everyone paid cash except for my husband and I and the wrote in the tip for us on our receipt!!! I thought that was ridiculous! We will not be coming back the service...
Read moreWent here for the first time with my wife. We ordered their daily tofu, stone pot chicken rice and kimchi tomato stew. Took a little while for the server to take out order because they were short one server that evening. Good came out quickly. They provide the usual Korean side dish appetizers while your food is being prepared.
Portions are good sized. We were not able to finish everything. The stone pot rice dish was very good. But the kimchi tomato stew was excellent. Very flavorful with lots of tender, juicy pork. Excellent mixed with the rice that was provided. This is definitely over dish you must try. After we were done with dinner, they provided us a complimentary cup of cold pumpkin juice. Somewhat sweet with a hint of pumpkin flavor. Very refreshing but unusual as dessert. Plenty of free parking. We didn't have to wait even though it was a Saturday night. Definitely will come back again.
Update: Came back again and had the spicy pork ramen. Pork was flavorful and tender. Ramen had bite and was tasty as well. Good sized portion. Very...
