Both of my daughters have been to TTA for several years now and they love the club. We live at south bay, but TTA provides best training for our kids so we think it is worth the commute. My younger daughter joined more official training from 6/2021 summer camp, she has improved her rating from 300 to 1300 in 6 months, then to 1900 with another 10 months.
There are many kids, from beginners to intermediate levels, and several high level players. E.g. maybe 20+ kids with 1000+ rating, which was the main reason we initially chosen to go there. We have lessons with many coaches, all professional coaches (their ratings 2300 to 2700). They have different play style and teaching experience. I found all coaches are nice as we get familiar. Most coaches are willing to communicate with parents when the class is not busy. Though still need to try out to see which coaches match the kids better.
There are many adults too for open play, though busy times may vary (e.g. on Fridays, 7-10pm are quite busy, shall be easy to find partners, though some times need wait to get tables). I also play occasionally myself (when I am not watching kids), and find people are normally friendly.
The club owner and head coach Hailong is a very experienced and smart coach. He is selected as a USATT national coach in 2022. He manages the club as a big table tennis family. Many kids stay with the club for many years until they get too busy with high school or leave for colleges (then still come back to play during school breaks). Sometimes, he can shout loudly, if students do not behave, or do not train well, often I find that is necessary and the right thing to do, then kids train more seriously and effectively. Kids seem all...
Read moreIf you are looking for a place to play table tennis in the east bay, I highly recommend Table Tennis America (TTA). There are 20+ new Butterfly tables, lighting is excellent, and the staffs are also very nice. If you are looking for a coach, TTA offers the best-in-class coaches in United States, for beginners and professionals. TTA also has a very strong Youth team program to help the young kids to learn and improve their table tennis skills. I've seen many kids improve their league/tournament ratings in just a couple of months after they started training in TTA. My son started his table tennis journey in TTA winter camp when he was 5. He gradually started to take private lessons there. After pandemic, while continuing the training in TTA, he aslo began to play in group lesson, league and tournament at the age of 8. In less than 2 years, he has become one of the top players in United States for his age group. And he is NOT the only one. Many young players in the club have been selected to the US National team for their age group. If your kid is interested in learning table tennis, I highly recommend TTA. A professional training from the beginning will set up a good foundation for kids to improve faster in...
Read moreMy dad is a super Ping-Pong fan and he played since very young age. A few years back when he first visited me in Bay Area from China, we settled in TTA to continue his Ping-Pong playing fun. TTA and the staff gave us very good impression and my dad even made many player friends! This summer my parents visited me again after the pandemic. TTA is still our first top to continue the Ping-Pong fun. We are amazed by the newly remodeled facility, spacious playing court, AC and lightining system, professional owner Shen, staff and coaches! Everything is great! My dad couldn't wait to play so we opened the membership the first day we stopped by and my dad played almost 5 hours that day lol. He even met a few players that they used to play together several years back. The other day I sit on the bench to watch the game, I immediately felt the joy of everyone playing Ping-Pong! Highly recommended for anyone would like to play Ping-Pong, no matter what...
