A Star Buffet and Banquets — Restaurant in Fresno

Food was great. The food was hot and fresh and the staff did a great job making sure the food stayed well stocked. I give it 5 stars on that aspect. The problem was communicating with the waitress. Their sign next to the crab legs clearly say if you need crab crackers to ask a staff member. I had to ask a few people to be able to get a crab cracker. Anyway not long after the waitress brings the crackers for the crab. 20 minutes later im still eating and she wants to take them away so I put my hand over them and tell her no. She doesn’t speak a word of English but she understood and walked away. Later I’m sitting there getting ready to get up to get more crab legs because they are putting out more and she comes by trying to signal me where is the crab cracker which I hid behind my cups because I already knew she would try to take them away while I’m away getting more crab legs. I tell her no and she tries to tell me something which I didnt understand cause she doesn’t speak a word of English. So I’m trying to point and tell her I’m going to get more food. Anyway she doesn’t understand and grabs the cracker and walks away with it. I don’t know if she thought I was going to steal it or they didnt have enough crackers to go around. So I got stuck breaking the crab legs with napkins and my teeth which I already have two minor chipped tooth’s for doing crap like this. I really don’t need a another chip tooth. I also didn’t feel like going around asking multiple people again to try to get them back. Next time I am going to bring my own crab cracker and let the waitress know I brought my own and I’m going to avoid this lady too because I am also a waitress and served people who speak other languages I don’t know a word of and we have been able to communicate just fine. Even when she walked by she saw me breaking the crab legs with my teeth and it didn’t occur to her to bring them back or maybe she was just being rude...

Let me start by saying I gave it a fair trial. 😁 Okay I had it with this buffet. Too expensive and no flavor. I went about three times and I wasn't satisfied with the food. So I went again yesterday because my wife likes it and I thought maybe it was me. I wanted to have a good evening with my love and I went with a positive attitude and HUNGRY. The salmon is tasteless and dry. I AM SAYING "IS" because it us that way everytime I have eaten it. The mushrooms- same- no taste. Green beans- no taste. They are missing something. I asked for teriyaki or some kind of sauce but didn't help much because it is not blended (saute) into the flavor. Anyway i tried the steak and nothing special. Just a piece of meat. The shrimp with the head on and not peeled has flavor and I like it but with that PRICE per person you would expect it to be ready to eat. I am tired of fighting with the shells! I had sushi. I am not a sushi guy but it was good. Not magical nothing A* about it. The food honestly is just a C-. Average food for a buffet. Dinner is $35 for two. And dinner is NEVER amazing. I like the mussels but I have to cut off the stomachs because they are always full of "dirt". The crab legs are nothing special either - just like in any buffet. (I heard a lady waited for hours just to get some). The stuffed crab, too corny (it looks delicious but you can only taste corn) and no seasoning. Overall it is just about average and very expensive! Someone in the kitchen or management with tastebuds should help them season their food. The people working there...

Cashiers fault really a And the food was cold they don’t restock what u get u get n the desserts taste like how a dirty rag smells or old dirty fridge I recommend the Blackstone n Shaw buffet reasonable prices for...
