First off, this is a long review but worth it if you want the most honest review of this place.
We were recommend this place from the venue who said they were great. My mother in law heard about this place and remembered it being great as well. I wish I could end this review there but I can't. My wedding just like any other wedding had its hiccups but I never would have thought this would have been the worst thing on my wedding day. My wedding cake. It was not "my" cake. They made it completely wrong. The shape, color theme, and piping on the cake was totally wrong. The piping was obviously rushed (and they made us wait forever to even pick up the cake on the day) there was gaps and the piping was not consistent (also the piping technique wasn't what we wanted). The colors were off and suppose to fade into each other like an ombre theme. Now for the most frustrating thing of all was the shape of the cake, it was suppose to be hexagon shapped (both layers). We got circular regular shapped cake. Which we never agreed on. The lady, her name was Karen, said no problem we can do hexagon but low and behold pick up day showed they could not do hexagon. I could get over about the piping and coloring because that's hard to be on the same exact page about that but the fact they did something blatantly wrong is what makes me so frustrated about it all. Also we know they made the cake super late because in the cake there was those long tooth picks galore, all over the cake, like ever inch of the cake had toothpicks everywhere ( long plastic tubing was in the cake like usual but tooth picked galore). When we called the bakery day of to tell them all of this they mushed it over and tried to make it seem they did nothing wrong. We asked to speak to the owner and the lady stated "Barb" was the owner and not in at the time, which mad me see red because Karen told us barb retired and gave the business to someone else years ago. So they lied about the owner, lied about our cake, and still have not given us a refund. We ended up throwing most the cake away couldnt take it home with all the tooth picks and it was just a sad sight to look at. After rereading the little template we took pics of in the bakery it also says we should have gotten a free little top tier cake to save for our anniversary, this was never mentioned to me as I only wanted a two tier cake, but I would have had them set it to the side so we could have saved that cake for our anniversary, but we never received it so no anniversary cake here. They lied about that too I guess. So all in all, this place was terrible. Terrible business, basically stole from us during our wedding. I couldn't even get pictures with a cake during my wedding. I can't just say "redo", I don't have the money to redo a whole wedding. I would stay far away from this place or make sure to pay in full when you pick up your order so you don't lose your money if its wrong.
I still would like to talk this over with the actual Owner of this business. You guys have all my contact information on that little half sheet of paper you wrote down our cake order on....
Read moreI am revising my initial review. Initially the cake was a mess. Ordered a square cake designed to look like a Nike shoe box. The Nike symbol was nothing like the Nike logo it literally looked like a kid wrote the words Nike on it and the Nike sign itself was a mess. Took the cake back explained to them how we wanted it fixed it took them an additional two hours, but it was a heck of a lot better than the initial design. Now I will say the cake itself which was red velvet and cream cheese was the best red velvet cake I have had in my life. They definitely have their baking down. My suggestion is learn fondant design it’s not that hard to learn. I was in the cake business in the past. initially it seems intimidating as many bakers are afraid of it but it’s worth it heres why. I would have gladly paid more than double the amount I was charged which was $100. I would have been willing to pay $250 for the cake had it being designed properly . Provide options for customers, learn the skill set because there is a lot of money being lost. Do not be afraid to charge for your art! Consider your time, your creative abilities not just materials! This is a huge thing that many small business owners do not understand. Value your time. When you provide options for customers you open the door for so much more business and opportunity. I’ve been in business for a long time and love small business and just want to see your company grow and succeed. Thank you for fixing the cake and like I said man it was the best tasting cake I...
