Roughly 1pm 11/19/2021 order #23 - After 10 minute wait, I ordered an impossible burger, plain. Three times the cashier asked if I wanted ONIONS and my receipt clearly shows this for some STRANGE reason. I said no each time and emphasized no veggies or mayo, mustard, or any special sauces. Once that was FINALLY entered (and took over a minute), I added bacon and avocado.
When the burger finally came, again nearly 10 minutes later, it was missing the cheese. I asked about it and a different cashier who was very nice apologized and said they could remake it. When I calmly said I don't have time to remake it and that I just want the cheese it is supposed to come with, she spoke to her manager or shift supervisor right behind her.
The superior immediately barked to me that they can only remake it. It was there that my demeanor changed as well, I might have been complaining but I had been polite, but if you are rude to me when you make a mistake, you better believe I'll respond in kind. I repeated that I don't have time to remake and just want my cheese. She replied, "We ask repeatedly if a customer wants cheese" which they didn't, as I noted and my receipt shows, I said no to repeated questioning of ONIONS. She wasn't going to budge and provide the cheese which was supposed to come with the burger, so I sighed and said that I guess I'll have to go online and tell about what happened.
THAT got her to change her tune. Suddenly she offered to refund which hadn't happened at all, but I said, "I just want the cheese which was supposed to come on my burger." To which she asked me which I wanted. Exasperated, I said, "I don't care, I just want my order correct, but don't have another 10 minutes to wait." She then told the cook to give cheese, but take as long as possible. A minute and a half later I FINALLY had the cheese that was supposed to come on my burger. It took nearly 5 minutes of time I didn't have to get the cheese put on my burger. I've worked fast food. Even 30 seconds just for cheese would have had us written up. It is absurd that I had to threaten to leave bad reviews, JUST to get cheese that was supposed to be on my burger to begin with.
I tried to leave this review with their "customer experience" website on the receipt, but it limits to 1,000 characters. So, they forced my hand to leaving the online review after all.
UPDATE: Replied to the reply. Absurd! They gave me the option of Chartickets or to speak to a customer service rep. I wanted to speak to the rep, as I'm never returning to Habit Burger. Instead, that rep just emailed me a link for Chartickets!!!
So, by ignoring the response to THEIR OWN OPTIONS: Their supervising employee cost them a customer, no big deal to their profit margin Their lack of ability for customers to complain properly (with enough room to do so), cost them getting this very public review which may easily turn some other customers away. A potential hit to their profit margin, but still no real issue. Their ignoring of the specific request of contact instead of Chartickets, on top of the two above; have now cost them, guaranteed, thousands of dollars in lost revenue and promotion. This is because I work for FUSD and will make certain that my school, and the schools my own children attend (as I am involved in the PTA), will have NOTHING ever to do with Habit for fund raisers, events,...
Read moreWhen their fried chicken sandwich debuted I gave it a shot and was less than pleased. On the first bite I noticed something was off about the texture. Like it was too hard and chewy. I took the bun off and discovered they had left the paper on the chicken before breading and frying it. Could have been an honest mistake. I went to the front and they were glad to fix the error and get me a new sandwich. Second sandwich came out and the piece of chicken was about half the size of the bun. Very unappetizing and hardly filling.
Took a break from going there since I had a pretty troublesome experience the previous time. Decided to finally give them another shot because mistakes happen and one bad experience shouldn't scare people away from a restaurant. I decided to order the chicken sandwich again and give it another chance. Brought our order back to the table and took a bite into the sandwich. Again, something did not taste right with this damn thing. Looked down and saw the chicken was under cooked and pink. Damn guys, this isn't a charburger it's poultry.
Back to the front one more time. They were happy to fix the error and bring out another sandwich. Replacement sandwich comes out about 7-8 minutes later and looked like a mess. There is a huge hole at the top of the bun where it looks like they jabbed a thermometer into the sandwich to make sure it was cooked to the right temperature maybe? Took another bite and immediately lost my appetite. The sandwich had a burnt taste and the breading was hard as cardboard. Not exactly what I would consider edible even.
Overall, I can't say I would ever suggest people order chicken from the Habit. I gave them two fair chances and both times it was a big disappointment. The burgers are fine, fries are great, and onion rings are top notch. But sweet raptor jesus, their chicken game is weak. 3/5 for honest effort but...
Read moreWould you like a hamburger that is a step above the usual fare? Crispy fresh onion rings that aren't oily or soggy? You might find The Habit Burger Grill a nice moderately priced change up from the usual chain burger joint!
These folks have an excellent selection of burgers, chicken sandwiches and veggie burgers as well as salads and sides. That will help you fill you up and cater to your taste.
This time around I had the Teriyaki Charburger, Sweet but not overbearingly so. With a grilled slice of pineapple that just set it up as one of the best tasting burgers of its kind I've had in a long time.
The onion rings were cooked perfectly. They are crispy and the onion was cooked just to the right consistency. So when you bit into the ring you bit through the onion and didn't pull the whole thing out of the crispy shell. They serve a nice ranch sauce for dipping, but of course there's ample supply of ketchup if that's your preference, or you can just eat them plain, perhaps with a little salt and pepper. Or your favorite hot sauce which is also available.
Don't take me a word for it. Just go and try! If you like burgers or grilled chicken or vegan equivalent this place just might be worth your...
