A Gem of Authentic French Baking: La Boulangerie
For anyone with an appreciation for authentic French pastries and a warm, inviting atmosphere, La Boulangerie is a must-visit destination. Having been a loyal customer for several years, I've had the pleasure of indulging in a wide array of their offerings, and it's been a delightful journey through taste and tradition.
The Food: Each visit is like a trip to France without the airfare. The croissants are buttery and flake to perfection, the baguettes boast that ideal crunch on the outside while remaining pillow-soft on the inside, and their selection of pastries and desserts—oh, the desserts!—are a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Whether you're craving a delicate macaron, a rich and creamy éclair, or a slice of their heavenly cakes, La Boulangerie delivers with consistency and excellence.
The Staff: What truly sets La Boulangerie apart, beyond their exceptional baked goods, is the staff's dedication to their craft and their customers. The team is not just helpful; they're profoundly knowledgeable about the nuances of French baking. The cake specialists, in particular, deserve a shout-out for their expertise and guidance. Whether you're selecting a cake for a special occasion or simply seeking recommendations, they approach each query with enthusiasm and insight, making every visit special.
The Atmosphere and Experience: Stepping into La Boulangerie, you're greeted by the comforting aroma of fresh baking and an ambiance that's both cozy and authentically French. It's the kind of place that invites you to linger over your coffee and pastry, soaking in the relaxed vibe and perhaps pretending, just for a moment, that you're sitting in a quaint café on the streets of Paris. It's worth noting, however, that this little slice of France isn't a well-kept secret. The bakery can get quite crowded, and sometimes service may slow as a result. But patience here is always rewarded. The bustling atmosphere is part of its charm, and the wait, while there, only heightens the anticipation for the deliciousness that awaits.
In conclusion, despite the crowds and the occasional wait, La Boulangerie is more than just a bakery; it's a culinary treasure that has earned its place in the heart of its community and its patrons. The quality of the food, the knowledge and friendliness of the staff, and the authentic atmosphere make every visit worth it. Whether you're a long-time fan or a first-time visitor, you're in for a treat that goes beyond the palate. Here's to many more years of delicious discoveries at La...
Read moreThis is strictly for their service and one individual who is either the manager or owner. The person is thin tall male possibly bald wears glasses and has a heavy accent, that's the person responsible for this bad review..
It was during the week went with my daughter to pick up some pastries. There was an elderly male in front of me and you can tell that he had hearing aids. One of them was a hearing aid implanted behind his right ear because you could see a piece of metal or some thing flat that the hearing piece was attached to. I struck up a conversation and it turns out he is a veteran and was injured overseas. Possibly the North Korea war and he was at least in his early 70s.
He was one of two people not wearing a mask. He said he couldn't wear one because the string would get caught up in his earpiece which he had one for each ear As we approached the counter the manager whoever he was, addressed him. He was rude unprofessional and totally uncalled for. He raised his voice to the elderly veteran and said we cannot serve you you're not wearing a mask you need to leave. The elderly male tried to explain to him he could not because the strings will get caught in his ear pieces and it would fall out. The manager said I don't care you can't be here, you have to leave we will not serve you. The male again in a calm voice explained sir I can't wear it it would affect my hearing. The manager said everybody's faking it nowadays they just need to listen to the law! He walked away. Another clerk who was much more compassionate smiled at him and said I can take your order real quick so we can get you out of here and helped him.
The manager whoever he was came back to the counter and behind the mask said some people can't listen. I calmly explained to him that the person had a medical condition which was explainable and he refused to listen. I did not feel like getting into an argument over Covid issues in front of a bunch of people and with my daughter and wanted to set an example.
I understand the current situation with the Covid mess but there are legitimate reasons for some people medical reasons they cannot wear one. Either way you do not treat an elderly gentleman in this fashion who is being professional and nice. Whoever this manager is should be either fired or reprimanded because of the way that he treated this person there was no call for it and it was totally unprofessional.
They were at least three other customers in line they also said the same thing and it was uncalled for and two...
Read moreI called about mid May to order a half sheet nicois cake for my brothers party for June 8th. Paid for half the cake, and was explained when I pick up, I will head over to the register to pay off the cake. If I call in before and pay off the cake , I will go through the prep paid line. I set pick up time for 12pm. Come June 8th, I head to the register, since I had not paid off the cake. I looked at the signs and noticed it said prepaid line only.. and one register out of the two, had a sign that specified drinks and food only. So I stood in line at the next register. Maria greets me and ask if I had bakery items I said no I have to pay off a cake and pick up. She said I would head over to the prepaid line. Confused, I asked “even if I haven’t paid it off?” She then talked to me , I felt, like a first grader.. and said “maam.. you. Will. Head. To. The. Pick. Up, line” and Elaine (another employee) stood behind her. As if standing Maria’s ground. That’s fine. It was only a question I had, since over the phone I was told different. I head to the pre-paid line. Someone else assists me, heads back to grab my cake. Here comes Maria again, (Comical at this point) & asks “have you been helped already?” I nod my head yes. The lady who went to grab my order says she will meet me at the register. I head over , wait about 5min, she comes back, and the name is misspelled. Had them correct it , as well as change it from “Congratulations _” to “Happy Birthday _” Had to wait another 10-15min. At the register , wasn’t told to wait aside. Elaine sees me waiting at the register, never once greeted me, asked if I needed help. She brings another customer, as I’m at the register, and proceeds to help them. At this point it’s 12:30. I normally don’t make it a big deal to wait, that’s the new normal. But I wasn’t happy from the moment I walked in. Wasn’t even offered help to carry the cake out. It was clearly heavy for someone who is 5’0, 90 pounds .
I have bakery experience, and I know it’s not easy. It’s hard to please everyone, but it’s also about customer service and treating customers like family . A bakery is suppose to be feel like grandmas kitchen. Definitely not what...
