Great service and (week)Daily happy hour specials on a selection of appetizers ($6) and sushi rolls ($5).

Each day features a different drink promotion (Tues was 1/2 off small sake).

They aren't afraid of cream cheese or deep fried anything but you can request to have almost anything tweaked to be healthier. I've had no issues with modifications which is refreshing. The rolls are always beautifully constructed with fresh ingredients. They are tasty but most include sugary sauces, mayonnaise or cream cheese based spreads or involve some sort of deep frying.

I opted for the seaweed salad last visit as it is one of my favorite dishes at a certain sushi/teppan restaurant just west up the road. The salad as it was prepared was perfect- the seaweed and daikon were fresh and delicious. I just was expecting something that was more dinner salad than starter salad. It was seaweed, daikon, with a garnish of octopus. Charge a few bucks more and throw some avocado slices and a few cubes of sashimi on top :) Or that's how I'll order it next time im there.

I discovered the "secret" patio my last visit which has windows right up to the bar. They understandably do not want to attempt to AC outdoors which is likely why they don't advertise the patio during summer in Fresno.

The dust on the fans tells me that the patio doesn't get a lot of use which is unfortunate. Even with 100 degree weather I found it quite pleasant. 6 of us shared an L shaped booth comfortably. There are no windows to the outside (which is how it stays cool) but there is a proper patio if you want a view of the fig garden village parking lot.

We'll be semi regular customers due to it's location (I live in the neighborhood) and the service (thanks Chris for supporting our patio party!). We don't usually order happy hour items but the availability of lower priced items makes Wasabi more...

I love coming here but today 4/28/19 at 7:15PM the female hostess was very disappointing. She wasn't the Asian hostess it was the other one. As soon as we came in for 2 we were told it was going to be a 10 minute wait and we were okay with that. 5 minutes later a lady and her daughter came in and was given a spot at the sushi bar. We were never told that that was available so we were pretty upset about that because we would've been fine with the sushi bar. A group of family came in after and was told 10-16 minute wait. Still, no explanation was given as to why we all have to wait because there was plenty of empty tables there. When my 10 minute wait was up I asked if a table was now ready and she replied with another 10-15 minute wait! I responded that she told me 10 minutes earlier and now I have to wait another 10-15 minutes!? No apologies was given and I was finally given a reason and it's because they only have 1 server and that I'm welcome to choose not to wait and leave! First off, that was really rude of her to respond with my option of leaving instead of waiting and second no apologies was given at all for the long wait time and 3 how come the option to sit at the sushi bar was given to the poeple who came in after us rather than given the option to US who was here waiting first! She was absolutely the most disappointing hostess I have ever met and she shouldn't be qualified to be the face of the restaurant to host because she did everything wrong and her rudeness will make people leave rather than wait because we left! If it wasn't for her rudeness we would have waited. She wasn't informative. She was misleading with her wait times. She was rude and forgot who's next and skips people. Everything opposite of what you should do...

Based on tonight's experience, I won't return. Had a group for a birthday. We're seated promptly, and our drink orders taken. The drinks were delivered and we were asked if we wanted to order appetizers. Things quickly went downhill from here. The hot sake came out room temperature (the temperature it should be served is in the name of it), as did the appetizers, miso soup, edamame and bento box. After this, it took AN HOUR to order our food. The server never came back to check on us, though they took orders and food to the tables around us. We had a new person to our table who was never acknowledged. A portion of our party had to leave as we had been there so long, and asked for their reheated food to go, and their part of the check. The server brought that, and started to walk away. They had to call the server back to take our order. When they finally took our order (we should have just left) they didn't bother to clear the appetizer plates or refill beverages. Nothing was acknowledged for the birthday person. After eating, the check comes, and we are told the check can't be split more than 3 ways unless we pay cash. It felt like knowing there was an automatic gratuity, they didn't have to put in any effort. The server deserved NONE of the $50+ they got. We finally went up to the front to get things settled, as the server would consistently disappear. They did absolutely nothing to remedy the issue. What was supposed to a fun couple of hours turned into a long waste of money. Save yourself and your bank account the effort and go...
