"It looked amazing" says the husband of a woman that doesn't believe in reservations. Get reservations. My only shot to eat here yet was blown away by a couple of birthday parties and a hopping Friday night. Too bad for me. I will be back for a proper rating, although the staff by the front door were terrific.
---this previous paragraph was my review 3 years ago. We finally made it in to The Lime Light last night.
The gentleman at the front does not know how to provide customer service. We were early to our reservation and were met with "hold on a minute, we are just getting your table ready" for the next 30 minutes...and any interaction was putting him out with a sigh and a huff...think Denny's, not a place with the reputation of The Lime Lite.
The restaurant is nice. Old school/throwback. We enjoyed the ambiance.
The drinks were good. We had 4 cocktails between the two of us and no complaints.
Service was what I would expect from a diner. Everyone just seemed so "put out" by any request, like when I knocked my fork off the table and needed another one, or a second cocktail, etc.
A lot of sins in a restaurant can be covered up with good food, which is ultimately why I'm writing this review: the food was not good. The Filet was well done and had the texture of a roast. The potato was undercooked and cold, and the brocolini was very undercooked and hard. We wished we'd have went to Manhattan Club, or Fleming's...even Applebee's would have been better.
$179 for two meals, four drinks and a shrimp cocktail that ranged from not great to bad served by rude people....
Read moreMy wife an I love eating here, the service was A1, Top Notch, our waitress made sure we had everything we needed, the front manager came by several times to check in, bring refills, Bartender killing it on the drinks, these guys are a well oiled machine
The Surf and Turf is a must for an appetizer, the shrimps are crispy with a creamy spicy sauce, the steak is tender I'm certain its the tail end of a tenderloin(that's where the filet comes from for those that arent steak fanatics so tender enough to cut with a spoon) and their ponzu sauce is the perfect level of sweet, umami, and spicy.
I had the woodfired ribeye, the steak was seasoned well, and cooked to perfection, the creamy mash potatoes were delicious with crispy onions on top, and the Brussels sprouts in salsa verde were in a league of their own(Chef Imma need that recipe)
My wife had the fried chicken, this isn't your run of the mill fried chicken. The plate came with a wing, leg, thigh, and breast, the every piece was juicy and the breading was the perfect thickness, crispness, and the little honey drizzle they put over all the pieces took it up another notch, also came with creamy potatoes, and a grilled parmesean broccolini.
We finished off with sharing the bread pudding, its a baklava base with a buttery croissant around it what more do I need to say. Incredible.
Keep up...
Read moreI really wanted to love this restaurant. I went for the first time. I'm on a salt restricted diet. I was told that the only entree on the menu I could get with minimal salt was the macadamia halibut. I go with that one. To my disappointment, I received a dish with a small piece of fish with some veggies. They told me they omitted half that dish (including salsa and sushi rice) in order to ensure I was not receiving salt. I like the sentiment, but they did not do anything to add to the meal they took away from. They could have at least given me a ton more veggies to make up for the rice, salsa, and other ingredients they omitted. I was not pleased with my meal and had it sent back to be remade normally. My wife waited for me to get my food again while her meal got cold. On top of that, her ribeye was extremely salty. I liked my meal, but it was nothing to write home about. My wife's lobster Mac was good, but there was hardly any lobster on it so we didn't feel it was worth getting. No complaints on the beet salad. That was good. My review for this place is 3 stars. Not great, but not terrible. For the price I paid and food I got, I won't be coming back. Service was...
