Worst Eating Experience Ever!
I came to Nami with my boyfriend for dinner on Friday night and I was very excited to try the food as a saw that Nami had good reviews on Google and were also conveniently open late.
The workers at this restaurant have the worst customer service that I have ever encountered!! Communication with the customers does not seem to be a priority at Nami one bit!!
I should have known this the moment we entered the restaurant and clearly asked for a table for two, the hostess didn't acknowledge us or answer us at all and continued to do whatever she was doing behind the counter as if she didn't hear us.
We quietly waited for a response as she talked to a waitress and after 10 minutes of waiting at the entrance, we were finally taken to a booth and were seated.
Once seated, the waitress took off and did not wait or ask if we wanted drinks. We both were already feeling our dining experience being affected by the bad service but decided to give the place the benefit of the doubt and quickly chose to each have bento boxes for dinner. We then waited to see if we could catch a passing waitress to start the order, however, not once did any passing worker/waiter look in our direction or acknowledge us.
Finally after 10-15 minutes of being ignored, a waiter finally appeared to take our food and drink order. He first asked me for my order and as I began to tell him my order, a waitress quickly interrupted us to whisper something in his ear. The waiter then ignored me and asked me to be quiet as to acknowledge the waitress and answer her!
After he finished, he then proceeded to ask me my order as if nothing happened. After completing our orders, both my boyfriend and I waited for our food as we listened to non-stop piano music that was better suited to be played at a Spa of some kind. By the way, the music did nothing to alleviate my frustration with this place, you guys.
After another 10-15 minutes, we were finally given our drinks as well as salad and miso soup. Just as the waitress was about to quickly speed off, I politely stopped her and requested utensils and napkins as we had not been given any. It took another 5 minutes for us to get our utensils and napkins...fastest response we got all night.
Our entree took about 15-20 more minutes to arrive. The food was not worth the wait. The miso soup was watery, my Salmon Teriyaki was stiff as if cooked frozen and the Teriyaki Sauce was ridiculously salty. My boyfriend's Teriyaki Chicken was overcooked, stiff, and also overwhelmingly salty. Our waitress did not give us any dipping sauce for our Tempura and therefore, we had to eat it dry. We also had were not given a soy sauce dish for our sushi so we had to make do with the pickle bowl.
We were unable to finish the food as it was so salty and unappetizing. We really regretted our choice of coming here at this point.
Bathrooms were also disgusting and looked as if they were never cleaned all day.
When it came time to pay, my boyfriend had to walk up to the cashier and request to pay as the waitress was so busy chatting with the hostess that she never once came to pick up the check. This experience was not worth the overpriced food.
Definitely my first and last time at this restaurant. I will not be...
Read moreI can't put 2 and half stars so i did 3 cuz i do have to give this place some credit for effort. I get there new and they just opened not to long ago (not sure how long now). But if ur going to open up a restaurant u should be better prepared, and i dont feel like they have prepared good enough.
Heres the pros in my opinion. If ur looking for nigiri and some rolled sushi and dont have toooo much time to wait, its quick and easy to get in and out for some simple nigiri/sushi rolls from the revolving sushi belt. (Of course if theres seating available and the belt of sushi has sushi on it)(seating for the revolving belt is limited, not many booths available for the revolving sushi). Other than that i dont see the restaurant as any different or better? Theres alot of other sushi places in town, they all do the same thing but others can do it way better. The revolving belt doesn't really add anything that we havent seen or havent experienced. The dine in and the tenpayaki and the revolving sushi belt seems a bit over kill, with to many things happening when u can simply order the same things from the belt from the dine in menu. Unless u want to eat only nigiri, the belt is pointless, U will simply order off the dine menu regardless for rolls or nigiri.
Cons: 1.the spicy tuna rolls on the revolving belt is $3.50 a plate (white plate). If u get two white plates with spicy tuna u will have a total of 8 pieces of spicy tuna. Now thats a total of $7.00. BUT if u look on the menu for their regular dine in menu they have a spicy tuna roll for $8.00, it doest specifie how many pieces there is for the spicy tuna roll from the dine in menu but most of the time its 8 pieces. So ur paying an extra $1.00 for possibly the same thing ur getting from the revolving belt from the dine in menu but for a $1.00 more??
2.There is limited booth seating for the revolving sushi belt(not enough in my opinion) i can see how this can become problem with wait times when its busy. But the plus side they have lots of seats for tenpayaki.
Some of Their food items dont seem like its worth ur money. Some rolls are too small of a portion for a heavy price tag. The prices of the revolving sushi is way to pricey. Food was ok, chicken was a bit over cooked and dry.
They really need to step up their game, there are alot of better sushi restaurants in town and if nami doesnt step up soon ppl will not be coming back. I wont be coming back, today was the first and last unless its changed dramatically in the...
Read moreThis restaurant is typically our go-to restaurant when we want sushi. I had noticed that it was taking longer and longer to get our food everytime we place an order. This last time was the straw that broke the camel's back. I placed our online order consisting of soft shelled crab, a Hawaiian roll, teriyaki chicken bowl, and sashimi at 7:44pm on 3/14/2021. The online ordering system said it would take up to 35min for our order to be ready. No biggie. I was on the other side of town. I got to the restaurant 20 minutes later and went inside to see if our order was ready. I stood there for a good five minutes before the server acknowledged my presence despite the fact that he could clearly see me. It wasn't like there were a lot of people waiting so I could have been easily overlooked. It was literally just myself and another customer waiting at the counter. My order wasn't ready so I continued to wait. While I waited, I watched as the other customer was told that the order they had placed an hour prior had somehow been missed and it was just being started. The customer had been standing there waiting for 40min and when he asked to cancel the order and have his money refunded the server made him wait another 15min to verbally tell him he had been refunded. It took threats to call the BBB and raised voices for the customer to actually receive any proof of the refund. At that point it had been an hour since I placed my order. I then got a phone call to tell me my order was ready... from the server standing 6ft away from where I had been standing for 40 minutes. I walked out of the restaurant with our food in hand at 8:42pm. Two minutes shy of an hour from when I placed our order. I had been tempted to ask for a refund after standing there waiting for 30min, but after watching the hassle the other customer had to go through I decided to accept my fate. It felt like a weird hostage situation. Being held hostage for sushi isn't really my style, so we'll be finding another go-to...
