Scoops — Restaurant in Fresno

tl;dr: an aesthetically appealing, no frills, quality ice cream place. an easy recommendation.

Scoops recently opened in Fresno at the time of this review and I had to go check it out to stay true to my inner ice cream aficionado. It's taken over what used to be a Baskin and I do feel it has improved notably over its predecessor.

There are 4 monthly flavors, which I assume are rotating, and I tried 3 of them for January 2024. They were excellent and each individual flavor was palatable and individually enjoyable. I found the combinations exciting and a delightful and unique pull to Scoops. The menu is straightforward and includes a scookie (ice cream on a home baked cookie) and a scooPup (scoop of ice cream with whipped cream on top + dog cookie for your dog). The serving size was ample and the staff was informative and helpful in aiding me navigate my first time there. The decor was clean, neat, and minimalistic.

There's ALWAYS room for dessert! I've had this place bookmarked since they opened. Ate at a Mexican restaurant near this place for dinner and decided to stop by since we were already on this side of town. Arrived 40mins just before they closed. We were greeted. The nice lady was helping others at the time and said she would get to as soon as she can. The place is clean and love the modern interior design. They had so many flavors she was offering samples. I wanted to order from their monthly flavors and the Brownie Cascade stood out the most. Large 5oz single scoops for $4.90 my husband ordered a single scoop of Birthday cake for him and my daughter to share. The Brownie Cascade was delicious. The chocolate was rich and the brownie bits were soft and had a sticky chewy consistency. Wasn't really a fan of that part since it was sticking to my teeth but overall the flavor was very good. Such a fun place and totally different from other places in town! Gives a city vibe yet with a cozy, warm feel at the same time. Staff is friendly, owner is so kind and goes out of his way to make you feel welcome, and the ice cream… just amazing!

So many options to choose from with 4 flavors that switch out month to month. They even have vegan options (which was my favorite this round - the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie)!

It was very nice to have an indoor seating area as even in this freezing weather, we were able to enjoy our ice cream! Such a plus.

P.S. totally dog approved as my dog loved the ScooPup🐶🍦UPDATE! Took my pup there yesterday for a treat and he LOVED it!
