I had an absolutely terrible experience with Honeybaked Ham that has completely soured me on the company. What should have been a simple pickup turned into a frustrating ordeal that wasted hours of my time.
I placed my order online and scheduled a pickup for 1:30 PM, thinking I was being smart by avoiding the holiday rush. How wrong I was. When I arrived at the store, I was shocked to see a line snaking around the building and down the street. Despite this ominous sign, I naively thought my online order would allow me to bypass the chaos.
Inside, I spotted signs directing online orders one way and walk-ins another. Relieved, I got in the online order line. Almost immediately, a woman behind me angrily informed me that I had cut in front of her. Confused, I noticed two people on the other side of the door, including this irate customer. As I started to move behind them, a worker approached and interrogated me:
"Did you just walk in?" "Yes," I replied. "Did you place an online order?" "Yes," I answered again, growing frustrated. "You need to go outside and wait in the line down the block."
Incredulous, I protested that I had a scheduled 1:30 pickup time for my online order. The worker's dismissive response floored me: "So did everybody else!"
This experience revealed a complete breakdown in Honeybaked's systems and customer service. What's the point of offering online ordering with pickup times if they can't honor them? The store was clearly overwhelmed and unprepared for the volume of orders. The staff seemed frazzled and unhelpful, providing no solutions or even apologies for the ridiculous wait times.
To make customers with confirmed pickup times wait in a massive line defeats the entire purpose of advance ordering. It shows a blatant disregard for customers' time and a failure to properly manage their business.
I'm beyond disappointed with Honeybaked Ham. Their utter lack of organization and customer service has ensured I'll never order from them again, especially during the holidays. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere for your holiday ham needs.

Read moreHoney Baked Ham in Fresno, CA, ruined my family's Christmas Day dinner.
First of all, they didn't have all of the components that I had ordered when I went to pick it up. They said they had had a problem with a delivery that arrived ruined, so they didn't have the au gratin potatoes I had ordered. Bummer, but stuff happens.
They also didn't have the 3 lb oven-baked turkey that I had ordered and PREPAID. They didn't even have people's prepaid orders assembled, which would have prevented giving somebody else my 3 lb turkey breast. Most stores will assemble customers' prepaid orders properly ahead of time.
At this point they gave me a choice of taking smoked turkey (my family won't eat it), waiting around for half an hour while they ran some more turkey through the machine, or I could take 3 x 1 lb packages of oven roasted turkey slices. I took the 3 x 1 lb bags of turkey slices.
However, the next piece is completely unacceptable! When we went to heat up and eat the turkey slices on Christmas Day, we found that the package that was clearly labeled as oven roasted turkey breast slices was HAM. HAM MISLABELED AS TURKEY! We opened the second package, also labeled as turkey, and it was also HAM! Fortunately, the third package was actually turkey, so at least we had something the family would eat. But mislabeling ham as turkey is unforgivable.
While we're at it, the broccoli side, purchased pre-cooked and frozen, was overcooked by the company. And the macaroni and cheese side was soupy and soggy. Yuck.
I will definitely not be purchasing ANYTHING from this particular store in the future. And I won't be purchasing the sides from any Honey...
Read moreThe Honey Baked Ham Company in Fresno was a complete mess. The store was so unorganized. There was products EVERYWHERE and out of place. It was like a 5 year old kid just placed the products randomly on the tables. The 35 minute wait in line was not worth the ham. The glaze wasn't even on the ham. When we opened the ham the glaze was suck to the gold foil, which was pointless because you are not able to wrap the ham back up in the foil. The price is ridiculous for the quality I received. The store was dirty. The floors where messy and needed to be swepted and mopped. The staff were not friendly and seemed to care more about what their coworkers plans were that Friday night then to care about seeing the paying customers where helped in a timely manner or that the store was...
