Five Guys — Restaurant in Fruit Cove

Let me just start by saying that I don't leave reviews often. Five Guys is my favorite place to eat. I recently moved to Green Cove Springs, and I was hesitant to try the local Five Guys because I didn't want to be disappointed. I finally decided to pay this location a visit. Let me just say that I was greeted with a welcoming smile from Des, and I felt like I was off to a great start! The restaurant and bathroom were so clean. My food was hot and tasty. I'm sorry I was underwhelmed. I saw the prices and expected infinitely more than I got. The burgers were not enlarged in anyway - not width or thickness. Taste. I was again underwhelmed considering that the signs in the restaurant touted 'Voted best hamburger' in Jacksonville. Personally, the burgers remind me of Wendy's at least in taste. Fries were fine. They are par for the cut-your-own potatoes and cook fresh. But I have to emphasize it is expensive. Almost $28 for burgers the size of a Dave's Classic at Wendy's. We got a bacon cheese burger and a regular cheese burger, a large fry, and two regular drinks. Great place for a burger, just so you know, if you order a bacon cheeseburger and add extra bacon extra cheese there's no extra charge ( as it says toppings are free) if you read about too much grease, its a f'n burger and fry joint what do you expect? If you read about too expensive, remember everything is fresh , five guys have no freezer in any of their stores, the fries are cut fresh all day in store, been reading through alot of reviews , there is definitely too many Karens in Fleming Island, I've never left this place unsatisfied, if you want to feed a family of four for $20, go to McDonald's...
