So me an my husband are both fans of Stix but last night we went to this location it was not busy the service was slow our drinks stayed empty and our chief at the habiachi not only messed up my husbands order but also messed up the whole tables or minus one person at the table. Our our chief got aggravated at one of the ladies at are table when she reminded him she ordered chicken an he gave her serving to someone else his exact words to her were “ I know stop it” told the waitor to get him more chicken now keep in mind this was already after he had to remake a rib eye steak for my husband so this was the waitors 3rd time going back into the kitchen to get meat because the chief kept messing up when the waitor delivered the chicken he disappeared not asking if anyone needs boxes not refilling any of the drink orders that we had been waiting for for atleast 20 minutes another waitress came out gave us our checks an to go boxes after the waitress getting the heat from the people at the table that were still there an had already asked to speak with a manager. The manager finally came out at this point me an my husband were done unpleased an ready to leave we paid our entire ticket with no discount it came out at almost 200$ remember that’s just on two people alone. Not only did the waitor miss out on a tip but the ticket would have easily been 20/30 dollars more alone on the drinks we would have bought an paid for if we didn’t sit at the table without drinks waiting on drinks that we already ordered to come out. As me an my husband left we asked that the manager discount the families ticket at the table with us because none of there food was correct, everyone at our habachi grill spent a good bit of money for none of the food to be right an for the waitor to disappear when we started asking for a manager. Me nor my husband were satisfied the chief was not pleasant an clearly didn’t know what he was doing an the service had no intentions on making up for it. Atmosphere: It wasn't busy and there was no wait before we were seated. The restaurant appeared to be clean and well decorated, but rather dark in some places.
The food: It was pretty good. I've eaten here before several times over the years and the food I was served on this occasion didn't taste as good as it did in the past. The portion sizes of some things also seemed smaller. For example, there were only 2 small wontons in the group-sized wonton soup when there is usually at least 4. But, none of us got food poisoning on this trip--which unfortunately did happen once at this location in 2016.
The service: Our waitress appeared to be either really tired or high. One of the soup bowls she brought us was broken, so soup spilled out onto the table. She was out of sight most of the time we were there, so we had to deal with the mess ourselves. And she didn't offer to bring us more soup to replace what was wasted. Then I noticed that she charged us for a side of fried rice ($3.50) that was supposed to be included in the meal (hibachi chicken). Unfortunately, I noticed it after I had already paid.
Price: We spent about $80 on that lunch which included a group-sized wonton soup, 3 entrees and 3 drinks--and of course the fried rice we were charged for in error. All things considered, I think it was way overpriced.
Conclusion: Because the quality has been so inconsistent, I will probably go to the Hoover location or a competitor from now on. I would advise others to...

My family were loyal patrons of Stix in Fultondale but I can say that after my visit on May 15 '18 that my entire family is finished with this place. We typically order to go since we have two little ones but the quality has gotten progressively worse over the past year. My seared ahi tuna was swimming in some kind of water. It would be hard to believe that it was cut that day much less seared upon being ordered. I ordered my rib-eye steak medium rare and it came well done. Everything was cold despite the meal being consumed within approximately 10 minutes of it being brought to the bar by the waitress. My wife and kids ordered the hibachi chicken but my wife couldn't even eat hers because it was so tough. The soup that came with the meals looked to be super concentrated and extremely salty. We asked if we could get extra vegetables instead of salad and were told that would be no problem. We opened the boxes only to find that the portion sizes for the vegetables were cut in half. The only good thing that I can say about this visit was that at least this time they got the order right. The last attempt they botched the entire order. I called the manager promptly to have her reassure me that the card would be credited the following day only to find that it never happened. Shrinking portion sizes, poor quality, poor accuracy and little concern from management. My family would have had a better meal at McDonald's. We will not be back. Shame on me for giving them so...
