Went to El Taco Veloz and ordered four burritos in the drive through. There were two of us and usually, it takes about two fast food burritos to feel full so this didn't seem excessive at the time.
We got the deluxe kind with meat and cheese, beans and rice, lettuce, tomato and sour cream. I wasn't paying attention to the price so when the girl said it would be $32 my eyebrows shot up. EIGHT DOLLAR BURRITOS?! Good lord, you can get four burritos for like $9 at Taco Bell! I was too embarrassed to say anything though so I went ahead with the order.
I AM A GOOBER. These are NOT your usual fast food burritos! When she handed me the bag, my arm just dropped it was so heavy. Seriously, like 10 pounds of burrito in there. I was offered green or red salsa and I took both to try them out.
The burritos were so delicious. We got one barbacoa beef, two fajita beef and one chorizo. The tortillas were freshly cooked, buttery and warm. All were massive and packed with delicious, really high quality ingredients. The chorizo wasn't the crumbled kind, it was like a pulled meat texture. Seriously yummy and actual authentic Mexican flavor. I think the fajita beef was my favorite.
I wound up preferring the green salsa to the red. The meat was already pretty spicy and the red added more spice to that. The green's smoky-smooth flavor and coolness was a perfect compliment.
I managed to eat ONE burrito and was completely stuffed. My daughter couldn't even finish hers! So, not one to waste, I had an awesome burrito for lunch the next day and the last one for dinner two days later! They were just as delicious re-heated in the microwave.
If you want giant burritos with authentic Mexican flavor I highly recommend you try this place out!

Read moreI usually do not write reviews. I know that restaurants may sometimes be complicated. However, word to the owner.. I’m not sure if the restaurant is meant to run this way.. I have arrived twice to this restaurant in which they state they close at 10pm and then state they close at 9pm, both have been during the weekdays per the web & hours placed ouside it states 11pm - weekends 12pm. I believe employees should abide by the schedule placed in OR atleast update the customers through their hour posting on the CORRECT time they close. Many people could go to the restaurant at 10:30pm (as an example) yet waste their time because the restaurant is closed and the hours are not ever accurate. Again, I usually am very discreet however this is a big issue that should either addressed or corrected. Customers may be eating inside but 9-10pm the restaurant is supposedly closed and those hours are never consistent, they always close at a new time. Please update the web on corrected hours and have your employees abide by a more consistent schedule. The food is great... but this incident has occurred twice and I’ve been ignored completely even when I’ve been seen by the employees which is a great customer service training...
Read moreMy husband and I always joke around that the food is so good at El Taco Veloz that it makes you keep going back there even though you know they will get your order wrong every single time. We use their drive through or we go in for takeout about once a week. My husband is fluent in Spanish, and we order in either English or Spanish depending on who is working the counter. We just accept that our meal will always be delicious but it will also always be wrong. Tonight may have been the last straw for me though... El Taco Veloz owes me about a hundred strawberry churros from the last 15 years of not putting them in my bag, and tonight it made me so sad that I might not go back there for a long while. It was a deep sadness, as I needed that churro badly. I did try to check the bag for everything, but as you know, every item is wrapped in identical tin foil so you have to dump it all out and unwrap each item to see what is really inside. With people waiting in line behind you and Covid risk, I didn’t unwrap 20 tin foiled items on the counter. I did a “rough check” and left. I don’t know if I can let El Taco Veloz keep breaking my heart like this. I’ll have to...
