Tasty food and friendly servers.
Went to Kelley’s last week and it still has that “new car” freshness about it. If you like American classics with a Southern spin, you’ll be happy with the menu here. We were greeted with some yummy corn muffins that started the meal off on the right note.
We tried a variety of things, the pepper-jack cheese bites with strawberry jam are salty-spicy-sweet delicious, the chicken fingers were tender and well-breaded with just the right amount of crunch and the chili cheese fries were awesome! Try the Mac n cheese too. Kelley’s has a little pimento spice to it that I loved.
Our burgers were OK, even cooked medium they weren’t as tender and juicy as I would’ve liked, but the toppings were heroes. Loved the fancy buns - were they brioche? The fig preserves and bacon made my tastebuds wake up on their signature burger but the Gainesville burger topped with a fried egg, pimento cheese and strawberry jam was the winner of the day!
We felt like it was a little over-priced, ($19 for chicken fingers?) but this may just be the world now with inflation.
I would definitely like to go back and try out the po-boy or shrimp and...
Read moreThis was our first time here, it was not as busy on the inside as the parking lot reflected. They have a wonderful atmosphere and the servers and staff were all very friendly and attentive from the moment we came in. They have a full bar which was wonderful and are able to make drinks that are not originally on their drink menu, with that being said they still had a very creative cocktail menu which was nice too.
For appetizers we ordered the goat cheese Flatbread, the wings, split half and half with lemon pepper and the white bbq. All of these were excellent. I loved the goat cheese Flatbread especially and the lemon pepper dry rub was awesome. My husband favored the white bbq sauce and loved the Flatbread as well. Our kids both ordered the kids pancake meal with sausage and added a side of cheese eggs and they both really enjoyed their meals. They were a very generous portion also. For lunch we had the Gainesville burger with a Caesar salad and the chicken tenders tossed in garlic parmesean sauce with cheese fries. I can not brag enough on how good both of our meals were. We loved our experience and will...
Read moreWe tried this place for dinner last night. Big mistake. Our experience was somewhere between bad and awful.
The bad: wife and I ordered the $13 burgers, very well done for her, medium for me. Something was "off" with the taste of the meat (the menu described it as local grass fed "Talmo Beef") We both noticed it and it wasn't a good thing. My side salad was wilted and soggy, and served 5 minutes after the burger. Her side, mac and cheese with white Cheddar and spiral noodles, was OK - just not what she expected. Overall, the service was average, as long as you don't mind making multiple requests for napkins, water refills, or the side you ordered.
Now the awful: I was sick all night - stomach cramps and diarrhea. I don't have a weak stomach and eat red meat cooked medium to medium rare on a regular basis without any issues. Just saying. I'm not buying all the 5 Star reviews here and neither should you. There's better food, service, and ambiance at more reasonable prices around the corner at Wild Wing Cafe. If you're thinking about having a night out at...
