So a little bit of a rant as I’ve been holding in this review for quite a while. The bagels are great but the service and atmosphere are extremely hostile. Specifically with one employee. I do not know her name but she wears a pokemon hat every time we go. Today was the final straw. Every time we go she says “it’s a 45 minute wait for a bacon egg and cheese and we close in 30 minutes.” It’s almost like she wants to always turn away paying customers. It’s a bacon egg and cheese not a Michelin star meal.
Today was the icing on top of the cake. All I wanted was two bagels with cream cheese. She starts with her usual “we are on a 45 minute wait and close in 30 minutes.” I asked her if it takes 45 minutes to put cream cheese on a bagel and she rolled her eyes at me. She then proceeded to ask me what bagel do you want. I asked what does she have as I’m sure they were sold out. And she said what do you want. I started naming bagels and very obnoxiously she goes “we’re out” to almost every bagel I asked for. So then why not just tell me what you have in stock? I then asked what do you have and she responded with orange and blue. That’s all I needed to know. She didn’t need to give me attitude. After I paid, she put the cream cheese on my bagels and put my bag on the counter turned around and walked away. No thank you or anything.
I would rather go to the other location or go to humble wood.
This is a consistent thing with her and I haven’t written a review because I genuinely enjoy the bagels but after this final straw with her I will not be going back.
I worked in a restaurant in time square. We were taught that customer service is more important than good food because there is ALWAYS a different restaurant that sells good food and in this case bagels. Apparently there is a 2 week break that but I guess I was just supposed to figure this out...perhaps through their website or Google?!
Repsonse to owner: If you update the website to reflect the accurate hours of operation, I could definitely provide a more food centric review. We aren't all following your social media (or even using it). When you lock basic information like that behind an app and say you have widely advertised this yet not even your own website or the Google entry (the #1 website in the world) - and a very likely online entrypoint for bagel seekers. Read moreOrdered two "Everything" bagels @ 2.95 each toasted and buttered. To my surprise the total jumped from $6 to over $10. I inquired if the order was correctly heard and was told that butter was $2 each. I responded that I thought that was excessive but ok whatever, I went along with it. When I unwrapped the bagels, the whipped butter was added like it was cream cheese or "frosting". There was more than three ramekins of butter on two bagels. My wife went back and got the one ramekin in the picture to save some of the butter, but clearly she would need a few more containers. The bagels would have been perfect with the exception of the globs of salted whipped butter. I was wondering if this was normal practice or just an effort to pull in another $4.
