I have been hesitant to write this review because everyone can have a bad day but this has become more consistent ( over my last three visits). The workers have gloves that they wear but unlike other places they never change them out. I watched the person making the persons food in front of me handle food, then the cooking tools, ring someone out, touch money and go back to handling food with never changing gloves. When I asked the employee to put on new gloves they did not argue but rolled their eyes and gave me a nasty look. The next time I visited they were busy so the person put my "stack" on the grill and left it never to look at it again. I had to ask the cashier after a long time when my food would be ready. They took it off the grill, boxed it up and gave it to me. Severely overcooked and dried out. Then yesterday (9/27, no one in line behind me for this whole process) the person making my food, who I found out opened the store that day (might have been the manager) seemed not to care about doing the job. She was quick and sloppy. I figured she was having a bad day so I tried to speak soft and kind especially. I asked for a little pico and a little sour cream and she just dumped a bunch on and squirted the sour cream several times because it was almost out. She then proceeded to fold the ends in without care. She put it on the grill. She did not put the weight on top of it as required. I had to ask the cashier jokingly if they changed the way they made it and she went over and put the weight on. It was too late though. Between her sloppy food prep, under cooking the "stack" (warm in parts still cold in others) and not folded correctly, I had to eat it with a fork because it was falling apart. You are supposed to be able to hold it. This is not an overall Moe's issue because the one in Dawsonville is spectacular and all the employees care about what they are doing. This is a Gainesville Moe's on Shallowford Road management issue that needs to be addressed before I will return. I gave 1 star because if I gave anything higher the overall problems would probably not get noticed and my review would probably not get read by those who could change it. I hope this can change because Moe's has awesome food when made by those that care about customers...
Read moreI came today during the Free Queso event! This Moes has always been one of my favorite places to eat in Gainesville. That being said, it didn't start off great.
The Bad Part: I ordered my Wrong Doug when I encountered the nacho shoveler of the evening/Queso tyrant named Savannah. I try to engage in polite conversation with said Queso tyrant, but I couldn't read her small name badge clearly, so I accidentally called her Shannon. Calling her by the wrong name offended her apparently, and even after apologizing to her, she took an attitude with me. Whatever, let's just keep the line moving, right? WRONG! I get to the end of the line to pay for mine and my wife's meal when I notice that there is only one Queso cup. Strange thing to happen on Free Queso night...so I inquire as to whether I could get my second Queso cup and was informed by SAVANNAH that it was only one per order....I guess the family of four (2 children-2adults) I passed by with their 4 cups of quesos must have had four separate orders..weird. All sarcasm aside, I could tell I had committed a mortal offense so I didn't linger at the end of the line because the line was long enough for everyone behind me and so I went to enjoy my food anyways.
The Good Part (aka why I decided to give Moes in Gainesville a 4 star rating instead of 1 star): The team leader, Issac, was an absolute show case in customer service. He offered to take our trays away, he offered me refills, asked if I wanted more Queso since it was FREE QUESO night (he said it was per person, not order), and just had the perfect attitude. Moes has always been self serve in a way so I was blown away by how my experience could be negative turned to positive. Thank you so much Issac for making up for SAVANNAH's petty behavior.
I normally don't make these kind of reviews but I honestly was blown away by how Issac turned my experience around and made sure I stayed a customer. I'm not certain what franchise owns this Moes, but please give Issac a raise and SAVANNAH a bigger name tag so there won't be any further mistakes...
Read moreI have never been so disappointed. I moved to Gainesville about a month ago and have eaten at the Moe's twice and both times it has been awful. You walk in and the employees barely even acknowledge you and are incredibly rude(except for a couple who actually were polite) and the place is a disaster. The first time I went ever single table was a mess there were old cups, napkins, and food all over the floor and tables. They were pretty busy at this time so I figured I'd give them a break. However, this second time I went back and it looked the exact same except this time there were two tables taken and one person in line. The chairs were filthy, stained and had food all stuck in their cracks. Then, you go to order. The lettuce is brown as can be and the meat looks like it has been sitting there for days. I ordered the steak because it looked the freshest, but when I ate it, it was cold and chewy. Oh and the chips.... completely stale. Both times. Like I said, the first time they were busy and all of these things,I figured, were just a one time thing. So, the second time around I figured I would give them a shot, but I regret it. I cannot believe I paid $9 for some nachos where the chips were so stale they were chewy, the lettuce was brown, the steak was cold, and the chips weren't even chips... there were crumbs. This place is nasty and not worth you time. Guess I will be driving 30 or so minutes to the next...
