Sumo Hibachi & Wings — Restaurant in Gainesville

It's new and its overall very good. I've eaten here a couple of times now, and it generally turned out great.

The Philly Cheesesteak was great, one of the better if not the best I've had nearby. A lot of Phillies you get have tough bread and the meat is usually good, but not great. This was different. The roll was nice and soft, and the meat still retained lots of flavor and fat, and it wasn't dry at all.

The wings were admittedly kinda meh, not bad by any means, but nothing special. You won't be disappointed if you order them, but you also won't be pleasantly surprised. When I had them they were as good as any mainstream wing place. If you like wings, you'll like them here too, but they aren't going to change anyone's mind.

I also dipped into the Hibachi side with the Jap Chae, and it was very good. It came with a side of rice which wasn't impressive, not particularly fluffy or flavorful, but the main dish was very good. This dish came with yum-yum sauce, but I'd say to avoid using it as the main flavors of the dish were good. It could have maybe done with a bit more spice or flavor, but overall very good.

If you want a mid-low priced meal and you are on this side of town, I would recommend stopping here. It's not a huge bargain, but the price is still pretty good for the quality of...

We got there shortly after 9 & they closed @ 9:30. We ordered our food & waited 8 mins 4 it 2 cook. As soon as it was done we started eating & a guy says, "We're closed." Were like what?? U close at 9:30 & we will leave at 9:30." Then a guy comes from back to tell us their closed. Augh, U took our order, said nothing about closing or having to get it to go and took our money. As soon as we go to eat it's an issue. My husband snarled back at him & said again " Leave us alone we will leave at 9:30. Our order had no broccoli at all, maybe 5 shreds of a carrot and all cabbage. This is a one stop only deal for us. In America we have manners & u are in America so find yours! Never will we go back or get food from this co again. Chicken tasted good. Beef was terrible and their fried rice was awful. I don’t usually complain or write reviews at all but I asked the lady and the boy at the register if the egg rolls had meat in them or if they were vegetable egg rolls they didn’t know so the lady went into the back to check and came back and said they were veggie egg rolls I’m like ok great I got my order and left so I get home confident that they were vegetable egg rolls and bit into it and to my surprise they were pork egg rolls after I was told they were veggie I’m already home I’m not going to drive 30 minutes back to this place for 2 egg rolls so I start to eat my food it doesn’t even have a taste my shrimp are way over cooked and barely any veggies there’s a bug in my yum yum sauce I want a refund I can’t eat this I will not come back here I should have known when I seen nobody in the parking lot I...
