I visited the Gainesville, FL P.F. Chang's after an incredibly long, tiring, and emotional day spent at a local hospital for my father's heart implant surgery. All I wanted was a quiet, sit-down dinner before heading to my hotel, especially since I am disabled and cannot sit on tall bar stools. After being turned away by four different restaurants that refused to seat a single person at a table, I was left hungry, exhausted, and incredibly frustrated. In a last-ditch effort, I called P.F. Chang's, and a wonderful human named JJ answered the phone. JJ was an absolute breath of fresh air—pleasant, funny, and immediately made me feel welcomed. They not only made me laugh but instantly told me to "come on down." When I arrived, the exceptional service continued. The host already knew my name and immediately guided me to a comfortable table, saying, "Come this way, ma'am, we have a table over here for you." The staff truly understood the meaning of hospitality. My server, Carissa, was equally amazing. I was so tired I was fumbling my words and couldn't decide what to order. Carissa was patient, kind, and incredibly helpful. When I told them I was hungry but indecisive, they asked which dishes I was considering and gave me a detailed, personalized rundown of each one, offering great suggestions. They were such a pleasant human to speak with. The food, of course, was delicious, and when I asked for my leftovers to be packed, Carissa showed their attentiveness again. They remembered that I mentioned staying in a hotel and thoughtfully made sure to include plastic flatware so I could eat my meal later. To the entire team—JJ, the host, and especially Carissa—thank you. You didn't just serve me a meal; you provided a moment of peace, comfort, and much-needed human kindness during a very difficult time. You turned a stressful night into a lovely memory. I cannot recommend this location...
Read moreDefinitely go here if you like overpriced, tasteless food and rude staff. We hadn't been to a PF Chang's in 10+ years, and decided to go to this one yesterday, with our kids. The atmosphere was so awkward and uncomfortable. I asked the waiter a simple question about whether we ordered the half or full order of lettuce wraps, because I was going to order another if we ordered the half (full was almost $16) as the portion was quite small, and my 9 year old really liked them. The waiter said that we did get the "full" order, but he said it didn't look like a full portion, so he wanted to see if the manager could "do something about it". I was grateful he was willing to do that, but again, I simply asked which one we got- I wasn't complaining or expressing a problem. The manager promptly approached our table and aggressively stated that he "heard we had a problem with the portion size, but that's the right portion size... so there was nothing he could do. Did we want to order another order at $16?"....... We politely declined, stunned by his tone and accusation that we "had a problem". The waiter later apologized for his manager's behavior, but it just made for a strange rest of the meal. The food, other than the lettuce wraps, was honestly awful. Our kids couldn't eat their kids meals because the sauces were too spicy for young children. The egg rolls taste like they came out of a bag. The rice was undercooked. The portion size of the adult meal was the same as the kid's meal, but cost 2.5x as much. Even the soy sauce at the table tasted watered down. We will never return. We wasted $80 on one meal for 2 adults and 2 young kids, and no one ordered drinks- we drank water. Our kids were asking for something else to eat as soon as we got home because they couldn't eat their meals. This is not the PF Chang's I remember from 10 years ago....
Read moreFamily outing to dinner and the kids/ teens wanted P.F. Chang's. It's been many, many years since I dine at this restaurant; it was in Miami/ Kendall area. I remember it being very good. Naturally, I was looking forward to trying the local Gainesville branch as well. From the moment you walk in the doors, the greeters/ hostesses and the waite staff were very friendly. You can tell they wanted us to have an enjoyable experience. Appropriate suggestions were made and foo came out in a timely manner. Here is where the lower star rating comes in. My daughter ordered spring rolls - she and the kids did not care for them or the taste. My starter was the egg drop soup. I did not expect it to come out brown. of course I was looking for it being on the yellow side. The taste was good; nothing spectacular though. Drinks (non-alcoholic) were serves. My server went above duty and was able to secure me a glass of pomegranate juice. Delicious! Kids ordered Honey chicken with rice and Orange chicken with rice and side of noodles. Daughter ordered LoMein with only broccoli (She's not adventurous!) and my order was the Spicy Korean Glass noodles with beef. I was very glutinous.... I completed my meal. It had the right amount of light spice and very well seasoned. The other 3 took their remaining portions home. Unfortunately, after about and hour my stomach began to churn when we went to the movies afterwards. I experienced 2 episodes of diarrhea. Scary feeling while attempting to watch the movie. While my daughter and kids went to see a second movie; I passed and went directly home, to get comfortable for a long night. Would I go again? Most definitely. The episode may have been a fluke. I have a desire to try another dish which caught my eye. I'll...
