A family owned small but very nice Chinese restaurant that looks very clean and feels very comfortable.
We went there for a casual business dinner. And it is good for a meal within a family or good friends.
Seaweed infused fish fillet: this is highly recommended. The fish was very fresh and juicy. The shell was crunchy and tasty. I love this one.
Roast pork: highly recommended. The pork was very tasty, a perfect mixture with salty and sweet. And the meat was very tender.
Roast duck: it was good for sure. But not as good as the seaweed fish fillet.
Shredded lettuce: tasty and crispy as expected. Recommended.
Foshan-made pig’s trotter: this was so so. Not bad at all. If you are not as picky as me, you may like it.
Gifei Chicken: it looked so pretty. Tasted OK. Definitely better than $5 chicken in Costco.
Combination in big casserole: the soup was soooo good! It was made by slowly boiling of pork bones. It doesn’t matter what were in the soup, they were all delicious.
Fried pork kidney with green capsicum: it was so so. The kidney was a little bit over cooked. But the entire dish was very tasty.
Deep fried prawn with salted egg yolk: highly recommended! This is one of my favorite Chinese dishes. All prawns were fried with a thin layer of crunchy salted egg yolk shell that had added rich flavor to the fresh prawns. I love it!
Water spinach with chopped garlic: the water spinach was very fresh! After a meal with so much protein, it is the best dish to delight...
Read moreI didn't know this place existed before this week. It took me a bit of circling around at the Kentlands to locate it. It's on one of the side streets from Main. So it's not really visible from the main street and the signage is barely high enough over any parked SUVS. Color of the signage also blends with the brick color of the building.
I stopped by because I had heard that the chef that used to run the Hong Kong BBQ food stall at New York Mart is now one of chefs at Ming's. I've been craving his roast pork so had to go and get some! Still has that hoisan flavor I've been craving. Also got a whole roast duck and it was tasty. Skin was crispy and lots of the fat was rendered. There's a small window that has the roast meats hanging. So you can see/select what you want!
It's got a handful of tables for indoor dining. They did have a couple tables outside. Not sure I'd dine in but at least it's got a few parking spaces out front for takeout pickup!
Will be going again. Going Chef Mah stays for awhile and will offer roast pig on the weekends! Haven't tried anything else, but heard from others that the menu has changed a bit. With Chef Mah, it's more Hong...
Read moreAwful. Lady at counter not good at english speaking and not even tried! Not answering for hello, not even looking at customer. Busy and ignoring. She charge me for extra items I did not ordered, and after I searched at my order bag I found it's even not my order there!. And lady was unbearable rude. I had my order list at mobile app and show it to her and after it she start to shout trying to convince me to pay for food they prepared by mistake for me. She account my order again and again making same mistake for at least half an hour. And a man from backroom was sorting out big basket of dishes at restaurant table making such a loud noise when I was talking by phone with app's customer support person so I was needed to step out from store. Lady jumped out following me, shouting like crazy... After I said I do not want anything anymore she called man from kitchen and they start to shout together and on each other on theyr own language apparently thinking I suppose to know it too. Worse ever experience! Never ever...
