So this is my second time being at this location and Gaithersburg I had the bison rib, mashed potatoes with gravy and carrots. Plus a mango iced tea. ,blackberry cheesecake, but the 2 tart slightly defrosted blackberry & blackberry syrup on the side. a sprig of mint with a rich potion of whipped cream. This was my first time having the bison rib it was meaty with that little slab of fat on the top. The sauce wasn’t like barbecue sauce. It was a mixture of I guess, barbecue sauce and gravy mix together. I don’t know, but the meat was tender, and the three bones that it was on were nice the mango ice tea was nice not too cold not too warm, but just in the middle, then the sliced cucumbers, but it was really pickles, but it was still in its natural form of cucumbers. It didn’t look store-bought so when you walk past the bar into the dining room area, there’s benches and tables in the waiter was very helpful, and he listened and spoke when I said that I had been to another restaurant in DC the cheesecake I had to order a second one to go because it was thick and rich in the gram cracker crust was thick. At the time that I went, it was around 3 PM not a lot of people there’s a table of three ladies in the table next to the three ladies was one guy by himself and then it was me so when you look at what other people ordered, it makes you know that you would come back the total for everything the two cheesecakes the mango Ice tea, the bison, ribs with carrots and mashed potatoes, the carrots, surprisingly not everybody, cleans their carrots. You can still see that the carrots was in its natural form of with the marks that carrot tab on the outside. It was big slices of carrots and the liquid from the carrots was on the plate so it’s like they just took it out of the bag or they just cooked it and it was tender the mashed potatoes you could taste the potatoes with a dollop of gravy in the middle, I didn’t season the food at all cause I wanted to stay at its natural natural state. I’ve just been unseasoned the way that I guess it’s supposed to be the music goes from country to rock. But in a relaxing kind of way, there’s nothing that’s going to get your heart pumping is this a really chilled kind of place so my total for everything was pretty much $39 and some change I gave a $10 tip because the waiter came and checked on me like three or four times before he brought me the bill but when he brought me the bill, I had it on the other cheesecake, but I don’t know if the blackberries are in the sauce that he gave me And I don’t think I got the little sprig of mint for takeout but you do get a little cup of nice amount of whip cream. I got sauce and the cheesecake...
Read moreSince moving to Gaithersburg, I've been to Ted's Bulletin numerous times for breakfast, lunch, happy hour, dinner, and late night drinks. Every time I walk into Ted's, I'm greeted by a warm and friendly face (usually Carissa or Adam). The service is best during breakfast and lunch. Among all the servers (Brendan, Daniel, Dom, Emma, Galo, Isiah, Justin, Nico, Patty, Tatiana, Todor) I've had, Patty is the best. She is warm and welcoming, knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive. Shout outs to Emma and Todor for making delicious drinks!
For breakfast, my favorites include Chai Latte, Pineapple Ginger Mimosa, Blueberry Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Duck Confit Hash (available in the Spring), Garden Omelet (made with egg whites, spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese), Jon's Omelet, and Smoked Salmon Benedict (not the Norway Benedict).
If you're not in the mood for alcohol, they make delicious mocktails. Among the four mocktails, my favorites are Garden Party and Whiskey Surprise.
For lunch, my favorites are Chicken Noodle Soup, Ted's Tomato Soup, Caesar Salad, Green Goddess Salad (available in the Spring), Halloumi Kale Salad, Harvest Salad (available Fall/Winter), and Mexican Street Salad.
For happy hour, they offer $5 Draft Beer (including Aslin Seasonal IPA, Jailbreak Lady Friend), $6 Wines, $8 Signature Cocktails (Avenue Smash, Bad Apple, Blackberry Moon, Blueberry Mule, Botanical Garden, Cherry Old Fashioned (made with Bulleit instead of Maker's Mark), Cheshire Sour, Oldest Fashioned, Peach Pit, Ted's Hot Cider (made with Fireball), The Back Nine, Violet Queen), and $3 off Appetizers (including Bacon Cheeseburger Empanadas, Chicken Parm Sliders, Deviled Eggs Royale, Fried Pickles, Maryland Crab Dip, Reuben Tacos, Truffle Mac & Cheese Bites, Tuna Tartare, Whipped Ricotta).

Read moreWe went here for an after dinner adult shake & dessert on Sat. I have an immediate family member who’s a Chef & they work very hard so I’m always conscious of being critical of restaurants. With that, we’re also aware of basic restaurant safety & serving standards & this place is one of they grossest places I’ve been in, in a very long time. Aside from tables, chairs, & floors that have been “cleaned” actually being sticky & full of built up dirt, the walls at the bar had long standing food build up splattered across them. From reading some of the other reviews, this is an ongoing issue. My shoes stuck to the floor as I walked to the bathroom so I looked down & around as I walked & started getting grossed out. Food, utensils, trash left under tables that had been cleared. All that aside, what really pushed us was when a blonde male employee, who we thought maybe was a manager, randomly walked up to us, interrupted another employee while he was assisting us, asked us (we think) if we were taking our order to go. It was random. He was belligerent & sounded drunk so we couldn’t understand him & when I said “I’m sorry we can’t understand you”, he got even ruder but all that aside, he later proceeded to blend a shake and walked around eating it right out of the metal shake mixer & using the long bar spoon (used to mix drinks) as his personal spoon then laid it down at the bar. You’d thought he was at home with the lack of awareness. It’s like a Chef eating right out of the pan & using the utensils they cook your food in as their personal fork. From the other reviews, food handling is another ongoing issue here.
I can’t put everything in this review but I’ll share that the carrot cake was amazing & the person w/me said their shake was good but when we started looking around at the lack of basics missing combined with the poor cleaning standards & how employees lacked leadership at this place, I was seriously waiting for a rat to walk across the floor and decided this place is not worth the health risks of...
