Yoyogi Sushi holds a special place in my heart, and my connection with this place goes back over 22 years. When I used to live just 5 minutes away, I found myself dining at Yoyogi 2-3 times a week. As a sushi lover, I have to say, Yoyogi is the only place I order California rolls. What sets them apart is the incredibly thin layer of rice that generously holds an abundance of delicious crab meat. Similarly, their salmon avocado rolls are a real treat - loaded with generous portions of salmon. These rolls are simply irresistible.
Now, living all the way in Northern Virginia, I occasionally find myself hit with an intense Yoyogi craving. Whenever I'm in town, particularly around Gaithersburg, it's a no-brainer – I head to Yoyogi.
The transition to takeout-only after the pandemic hasn't diminished the quality of their food. It's perfect for those sunny days when I can enjoy my meal on a bench, in my car, or at a friend's house. Speaking of which, Yoyogi is a go-to for potluck parties, and I always bring one of their sushi platters. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly, making every visit a warm and inviting experience.
Finding parking is hassle-free; there are spaces across the street, and street parking is also an option. When I order, I typically go for the house salad with ginger dressing, salmon avocado roll, eel roll, spider roll, California roll, seafood udon, crispy chicken, and rice. I highly recommend stopping by Yoyogi or considering one of their sushi platters for your next event. Yoyogi's consistency in quality, along with their friendly atmosphere, makes it a true gem in the...
Read moreI have eaten many different sushi and rolls in different restaurants and even in different countries, and Yoyogi Sushi is one of my favorites! There are not so many different sushi or rolls, but they can be combined with hot food and salads which are so good. It is not a big restaurant but there is always will be place for few people. Yoyogi Sushi also really good place for introverts or people who don't want to talk with others because of self-service terminals. They have three self-service terminals that are usually empty. In this restaurant you can also find Japanese drinks in glass bottle and pocky. If you or your friend don't really like fish there is also some salads, ramen, and hot food that you might like. So it is a good place to go in if one of friends like sushi and other don't. Restaurant has two floors. When you go in on the left side you can see stairs that go down. The lower floor is bigger then first and has bigger tables and some tables for two people. You can also find waiter down stairs.
If you like sushi, rolls, salads, ramen, or Japanese drinks I recommend you...
Read moreOne of the best hidden sushi places in the Moco area. Sushi here is cheap, fresh and are huge (stuffed with a lot of goodies inside along with the rice). Service here is at a professional level with it being known to be fast. Took one star off for their tempura not being good as other japanese places. Tastes very heavy and they seem to use a batter that reminds me of like funnel cakes and not the typical light tempura tempura batter. Also, the batter is too thick. So that means their shrimp and vegetable tempura entree/rolls taste mediocre at best. That batter is only good for their fried squid appetizer.
Their Jumbo Tempura Roll is not that great, do not recommend it even though the picture looks appealing. Too much flavors going on in one roll and too many fried (in an okay tempura batter.) things incorporated into the roll. The roll looks so big that I lost my appetite just by looking at it if that makes sense lol. The roll is actually jumbo size, and it...
