Ciro's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Galax

We have eaten at Ciro's in Independence several times and always been more than pleased. Today, we tried Ciro's in Galax, arriving about 11:30am. While the wait staff was friendly, and I realize they (like so many) are short staffed, the results pitiful. My wife ordered a lunch special stromboli & drink ($5.99 on the menu) and I ordered a small white pizza (I have trouble eating most marinara sauces) with sausage and a drink. After waiting 40 minutes and seeing later arriving customers get served first, we finally got our orders. WRONG. Mine was not a white pizza, but loaded with marinara sauce. Besides the excessive wait when the place was at less than 50% capacity, it was not as ordered. I told them we had no more time and paid for my wife's and got a to go box. What was advertised as $5.99 plus tax came to $7.32?? I didn't question that and did leave a couple bucks for the waitress as I don't know where the fault arose. We were pushed for time, had appointments, then an hour drive back home arriving at 3pm. All this on a pack of nabs and coffee I had at 7:30am. Not a great day. Will possibly try again, but likely stick with the one in Independence and eat elsewhere in Galax. Hopefully this was out of character for...

This was my first time here. I waited an extra 15minutes for my food after it was supposed to be ready.

When you walk in, you can tell this was an old Chinese restaurant where they did less than the bare minimum to rebrand.

I ordered the Ciro's sub, the veggie gyro, and some jalapeno poppers. The food had a weird chemical taste. For a sandwich that carries the name of the restaurant, I expected better. The gyro was thrown together and tasted like it sat out for a day or two. The jalapeno poppers tasted like freezer burned frozen food that wasn't cooked all the way. First time customers last night. We went in and a few other tables were seated. Certainly wasn't full by any means. The waitress was huffing and puffing about how busy they were. She was extremely rude to several customers, especially the ones calling in for orders. She was loud enough for the entire place to hear her displeasure and attitude. The food was decent. Everything came out at different times and they nearly forgot one of our meals. However, that wasn't a big deal. I doubt we will ever come back. The service we received was absolutely awful.
