There food was decent to good. We got to watch the sushi being made at their little sushi station, which was cool. Their prices were actually pretty good for the quality of the food.
However, the main reason this review went from a 4-5 star review to a 3 star review changed because of the experience my wife had in their bathrooms. Not to bring gender bias into this, but the female staff were constantly busy cleaning/taking care of customers, while the male staff were in the back/stocking the bar/sitting around . . . so it's pretty clear to me that the person who maintains the plumbing and the bathrooms is a guy. The reason I say this is because while the men's bathroom was okay (obviously repaired/somewhat maintained) . . . the women's was not in good shape. One of the toilets had obviously overflowed and not been cleaned up (after the clog had been dealt with-don't know by whom), the toilets had been used and not flushed, the one that had overflowed had been used since it had overflowed, not flushed, and allowed to sit. My wife slipped and almost fell because the standing "water" wasn't immediately noticeable due to the dark color of the floor tile. There was no "wet floor" sign & she would have taken pictures, but was too disgusted and afraid she would slip again in the attempt. An additional reason I think that it's a guy who takes care of the bathroom is because a guy knocked on the door while my wife was in the bathroom. Before the bathroom incident, it was interesting to listen to one of the management (an older female, probably the owner, never saw her stop moving) yelling at another of the management (an older gentleman - not sure if it was business or family related due to different language & pretty sure that the gentleman was either the husband or lower rank), but they took it to the back fairly quickly. My wife is willing to give them one more chance, but if their bathrooms aren't any better next time, this review will drop...
Read moreI just returned to my hotel room after eating there. This may have been the worst Chinese Buffet that I have ever encountered. I tried all of the chicken dishes, and only found what I could identify as one piece of real chicken in the all of the servings (excluding the chicken that was fried or on a stick). There was one chicken dish with pepper that was particularly bad: every piece felt as though it had the texture of fried chicken fat. I tried the beef and broccoli, and the texture of the "meat" was only moderately better. It too had the texture of chewing on fat. So, I continued to try different things. The wonton soup tasted as though the broth was watered down and the dumplings were mush, with no texture other than a soggy mess. I also tried the sushi. It was probably the better part of the meal, but the Yum sauce also gave the impression that it too was lacking in flavor and watered down. The selection was not good. I was hoping for some more vegetable dishes or chicken dishes in which the chicken was not breaded or coated. There was none, which may have been because of the quality of chicken (or lack) that they were serving. As a perfect end to the evening, I went for the fresh fruit and the sweet sticky rice. There was no sweetness to the cantaloupe. The pineapple was fine. As a fitting end, as I was standing at the sweet rice, a fly fell into and couldn't get out. It was certainly sticky. I would also say that I had to find a server to get more water and to remove the dishes from the table.
I must admit that the place was busy, so maybe I hit this on a bad day. I am not a local, simply visiting and staying in a local hotel. However, I can tell you that I would never...
Read moreI would like to start my review with the fact that neither my husband nor myself are super critical. We are fair and take as much in consideration as possible. With this in mind my review is this: The atmosphere is typical Chinese buffet. The service today was very disappointing. My husband asked three different employees for a spoon to eat his soup with. One man looked at the container that would hold these and saw that it was empty. No one brought him a spoon and after 45 minutes there still were no spoons. My husband simply drank his soup from the bowl. Also the waitress only stopped by our table once, asked if we wanted anything else, I asked her for more sweet tea and my husband (only half way through his Heineken) asked if she would come back and he would see if he wanted another. Upon returning I was brought my tea and the check. No further service was provided. We left after paying $25.06 for our lunch buffet. I also must mention that the time was a little bit after 1 and very few people were in the restaurant and plenty of staff... also the food was only "so, so" and...
