Denny's — Restaurant in Gallup

So I decided to try this Dennys this time because I usually go to the one on the west side. I'm a travel nurse here on contract so I eat at various restaurants all the time. I usually don't post reviews but felt the need to this time. So I stopped here to eat on the way home from work expecting a pretty good experience( as I've always had) I was seated in a booth which was in the middle of the floor which was cool. The waitress that was serving that side kept walking past me as if she didn't even see me sitting there. I observed an older white male came in and sat directly across from me. She came to my table asked my drink order and my order. She Finally went over to ask for his. He got his drinks and proceeded with his order and I'm still waiting on the drink. About 10 minutes later he received his order. So I'm still sitting here with no drinks or food but she's walking right past me. I'm still waiting and she finally brings the drink.Meantime I'm still waiting on my food. An hour has passed. Several people has entered after me and ALL have gotten their food except for me. So I asked another waitress kindly will she check on my order. She checks on on it and confronts the waitress about it. Long story story I know but the waitress never bought my food to me the other waitress did. I left trying to understand what exactly just happened 🤔 she's native I'm a black person, was this some form of prejudice? I hate being biased and I don't usually get into the racists stuff. I recently stopped by Denny’s for breakfast, and it was a solid experience all around. As someone who appreciates a good, hearty breakfast and great coffee, this visit didn’t disappoint.

First off, the coffee was exactly what I needed to start my morning—it was piping hot, fresh, and flavorful. There’s nothing worse than lukewarm coffee at breakfast, so this was a big plus right off the bat.

For my meal, I decided on the Santa Fe Skillet, and it hit the spot. The flavors were well-balanced, and everything was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were crisp, the eggs were fluffy, and the overall dish was seasoned just right. Plus, it arrived hot, which is a big deal for me when eating out. Too often, food can sit for a bit before making its way to the table, but this was served fresh and steaming.

The service was another highlight. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, and they made sure everything was taken care of quickly. From refilling my coffee to bringing the check, they kept things moving smoothly. I didn’t feel rushed, but I also didn’t have to wait long for anything.

Horrible service! Had to wait over an hour for our food, which wasn't bad as we were trying to be patient as there would be only fast food open and we didn't want that. However when the food did come out it wasn't as expected (it was our usual order nothing new, so we knew what to expect). Nachos had sparse toppings, more chips than nachos, food was extra greasy, over fried mozzarella sticks ( fried so long the cheese came out) and one of our meals was missing a key ingredient, not to mention they came out plate by plate with minutes passing by before all were served (we were Party of 3). We had to ask for accompanying sauces several times,but never received them. And when we told our server he walked off while we were still talking with him, consistantly skipped our table when checking the section. Not to mention we saw the server pick his nose ( as our luck would have it, after we ate) as well as eat in the order pick up area. We then went to talk with the manager while checking out and she did not make eye contact with us and told us" not to make an excuse for the kitchen, but we had a large party come in right before you did and the kitchen for behind".
