I was at this location today at 3 o’clock with my husband. There were 3 employees assisting costumers when we arrived. The costumer in front of me ordered 7 sandwiches and the employees were working as diligently as possible to complete that order. As this was happening, a 4th person enters the store and goes behind the counter. This person was wearing a camouflage sweatshirt and jeans with her hair down. She did not seem to be an employee in appearance. Low and behold, she was. She began giving directives to the other employees and chastised them on how they were not moving fast enough (for her liking, didn’t mind the wait). This person began to move bins around and helped with the meat slicer without an apron or any effort to tightly put her hair back or put a cap on. She then stood in the doorway of the back kitchen and texted. She returned to “helping” without washing her hands. As our food was finished, I thanked the 3 employees for how hard they worked and for maintaining sanitation standards. Food sanitation and safety is a bare minimum expectation when eating at a restaurant. As we were leaving, I asked if I could talk to the 4th mystery employee. I asked her if she was on the clock which she admitted to, and I told her that her behavior appeared to belittle her co-workers in front of costumers and her hair being down and uncovered was a safety issue while she was around food behind the counter. She told me that she didn’t touch any food and that she couldn’t find a hair tie. I told her out of respect I was trying to convey that the appearance of her behavior was not a good look. She spitefully offered me the franchise owner’s phone number. When I told her she didn’t need it, she scoffed. I didn’t appreciate her attitude at all, not only to me, a costumer, but also to her co-workers. As a local Gallupian, it hurts to see so many businesses lack in costumer service especially since we are on a major highway and so many people’s first impression of our town ends up being situations like these. I’m sure Subway trains their employees...
Read moreSmall town Subway is always hit or miss. This one is a miss. There were three employees working when we went in and none of them really had any idea what was going on. We had to wait while they made the order in front of us, one coaching the other through the process. No big deal. Then we had to wait while they slowly made ours, while we repeated our order six or eight times throughout. Then instead of cashing us out, we waited while they made the sandwiches for the large group behind us. I inquired about paying for our meal so we could eat it while it was still warm, and was given a dirty look. The portions were tiny, and the experience as a whole was terrible. It tasted fine and the veggies were fresh, but the...
Read moreThis place has gone down hill so bad. Of course Gallup like always can’t have anything nice & the people working in it suck. Girl working has bracelets on that’s touching my food, jewelry on everywhere & nails so long that she had to wear two gloves to cover them. Disgusting! Health Code Violation central!! She also has a AirPod in & isn’t listening to anything I’m telling her. I ask for another person & I’m told the girl is only working there because she’s the managers niece. Nepotism ruining another business! Allowing family to work with you is bad business when it makes you blind to the...
