I had midnight tacos on the night of the fourth of July at El Jefe. The owner is a very respectful and passionate man who clearly loves what he does very much, and it shows in both his service and his food. We had a massive wait because it was the fourth of July, and Galveston was packed, so he informed us beforehand of the wait and invited us to park our car nearby, and he would take our food directly to us. When our food arrived, he also gifted us an agua fresca because of the long wait, and was always nice and respectful. Nit to mention, the birria tacos i had were the bomb, delicious, and had the perfect amount of spicy, those 45 mins were absolutely worth it! Also, I'm sure on any other night, the wait will be much shorter. In any case, delicious food and great service, what else can anyone ask for?

Ordered four tacos between my boyfriend and I and had to order four more cause they were too good. My boyfriend also ended up ordering a quesadilla. The birria tacos were really cheesy and the consummé was also super good. The consommé wasn’t as heavy as most other places and still had full flavor. The quesadilla was not just cheese and chicken, it has lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeños, and if you aren’t the picky type, this was truly amazing. Stop by if you are in Galveston! We will be coming back.

This is a good stop if you dont want to eat drive thru fast food. The service is great. Love that they have Mexican cokes, and the food is great. My husband and I ordered quesadillas (1 fajita and 1 pastor) not thinking they were going to be huge! It's a little more cheesy than meat in our opinions, but over all great! I do have an issue since I'm not from here. The directions made me pass it since it's a hidden food truck so that's a downside. Should maybe have a sign closer to the street

Don’t be fooled by the good reviews like me Only two families ahead of us.. and took them about 45 minutes to complete the order Quesadilla… 95% cheese & 5% meat Had to put a ssshhh lot of salsa to at least make it taste like something other than cheese Birria tacos… with the smallest “consomé” ever. It was the size of a “side of ranch” in a regular restaurant… maybe a tiny little bit bigger. But definitely not worth the price Burritos were meh. Can go to La mixteca and for the same value get full meals with way better taste. Had to apologize to the family for bringing them here We thought it would be faster than a restaurant so that we could get to the hotel early and rest. Couldn’t be more wrong and couldn’t regret it any...

I was in Galveston on vacation. I looked up tacos on Tiktok and this place came up. Everything looked good. I placed an order with Uber Eats and the driver dropped off my food at another house and canceled my order after she realized her mistake. Uber Eats refunded my money but we were hungry. I headed to the food truck and the owner was very nice and re-did my order real fast, and we had a huge order. 3 birria ramen, 1 order of birria tacos, 1 order of fajita tacos, 1 order of campechana tacos, 3 agua de sandía, 2 agua de piña, and 1 orange fanta. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. We devoured the food. Definitely going back when we...
