Hands down best smoked chicken in three counties. Maybe even more than that. Every time I am in Galveston for lunch I go here. The season and smoke flavor is never disappointing. Plus the jambalaya is fire. And the chicken breast are so big that you think a Hollywood plastic surgeon had something to do with picking them out. LOL. It is a family owned and ran business. The owner and his wife both work the kitchen and front counter with the help of their son. All three of them are awesome people. They really get to know their customers. Leo's is also known for their famous riblets. I've had those also and understood why they are famous for them. For me though I love the chicken šŸ”. If you are in Galveston you have to try this place. If this review is helpful or you try it and agree leave a thumbs up. Enjoy and thank me later. *Update* The chicken is still FIRE! Biggest juiciest breast on the island hands down. But since I'm watching my carb intake I decided to try the green beans. When I took a bite of these delicious beans it made me happier than a puppy with two peters. The best green beans I've ever tried. I wonder if Leo is available to be my personal chef or dad. Lol. Probably couldn't afford him but if I could I would. Y'all need to go try this place!

Little mom and pop place—seems to be family owned and operated. They tout their boudin balls as the best. How we my years of living in NOLA says otherwise. They were over seasoned with generic seafood/Cajun spice. At a 3 pm on Sunday, not fresh. Maybe Lafayette, LA. cooks food differently. The shrimp po-boy was dressed with some kind of cole slaw. No mayo. No lettuce. No tomato. Not your typical po-boy. Greasy popcorn cooked to death were used. My preference is medium sized shrimp or larger. Very small. Barely larger than my hand. I’m used to foot longs. It was only $7.99. Pro-tips- 1. dress casual/beach attire seems acceptable. 2. Eat on the patio—it’s so pretty. The inside is not appealing. 3. Go earlier rather than later for a larger selection.

Leo’s Cajun Corner is a true hidden gem! I really appreciate that it’s not corporate-run—you can feel the difference in the atmosphere and the food. It’s authentic Cajun cooking done right. The boudin balls were amazing—crispy on the outside and packed with flavor on the inside. We were hoping to try the stuffed crab, but they were out this time. No worries though, just gives us another reason to come back! One thing I want to mention is the lady who helped us—I could tell she may be partially deaf, and I just want to commend her for her kindness and great service. She was attentive, patient, and did a fantastic job. Great food, great people. We’ll definitely be back!

really great place! i'm from montreal, recently came back from a road trip down in the southern USA. we passed thru galveston to check it out and take the ferry. we wanted some lunch and we had seen this place driving down broadway so we decided to stop in. i'm glad we did. wasn't sure what to expect from this place at first, but my expectations were really blown out of the water.

i ordered just meat. i got the smallest order of riblets, they were pretty good. you get a large portion so i still had some to keep in the car to eat later. i also ordered one pork chop. i'm not even kidding, this was the best pork chop i ever ate. i've never tried a smoked pork chop before, it's not very common in canada, so for me it was a real treat. i would have loved to try more of their stuff, lots of good stuff on the menu. i forget what my friend ordered, one of the plate lunches i believe. he enjoyed it.

the prices were very fair and affordable and the people working there were all nice and friendly, pretty laid back and polite. for me coming from quebec, there was a real southern vibe to this place. right down to the cashier wearing a duck dynasty shirt and the smokey wood out back. we don't have places like this back at home so that was a cool appeal for me. for people who are from around galveston or elsewhere in the south, you'll probably get a nice 'homey' vibe from here.

anyway, if you're in galveston, check this place out. i highly...

Okay, so I am still really obsessed with this place. I love their food and continue to frequent the restaurant. I think the $6.00 cold riblet deal is great and often get 5-6 bags per visit. Also try the fried chicken drummies, they are some of the best chicken I have had! They have good customer service as well.

My only complaint is the seafood gumbo. I ordered a small seafood gumbo, when I went to go eat it, it did not have ANY seafood in it at all. I called, thinking the cashier made a mistake and gave me chicken and sausage gumbo. They assured me they gave me the seafood and told me to bring it back and they would replace it. I brought it back and the cashier gave me another small seafood gumbo and let me keep the first one, which was nice. However, I got home and the replacement seafood gumbo, had ONE small shrimp in it, and two crawfish tails, but huge chunks of chicken. My complaint is that they charge more for seafood gumbo and so they should make sure that the order actually has seafood in it. The time before this, I ordered chicken and sausage gumbo, but the roux tasted burnt :(

However, despite this, I chose to still give the business 5 stars, because I have had way more positive interactions and experiences with them, then negative. This is my favorite place to eat when in Galveston, and I will...
